Hooper’s Judge is a gem. We dined in this cozy, beautifully decorated nook (pictured), which set the perfect mood for an incredible meal. The standout was the Wellie (beef Wellington). Perfectly cooked, easily one of the best entrées I’ve had anywhere on the south shore. The cocktail list is outstanding, and the Negroni was the table favorite. Fantastic atmosphere, amazing food, and great drinks… will be back.

We have been coming here since shortly after their opening – at least once a week. Favs include lobster bisque, the wellie, steak frites, deviled eggs, beef tartare, pork chop, salads…
And if you like dirty martinis – try the hot n dirty – so delish! Great atmosphere- love the music/vibes. They are nailing it!

I have been here twice. Once sat at the bar and once at a table. The food was absolutely delicious, have tried beef wellington, wedge salad , truffle cashews , meatballs , pretzel and toffee pudding. The atmosphere is nice and cozy. My only complaint was when we sat at a table, we felt rushed by our server. Otherwise would have given it 5 stars.

I took my family to Hoopers’s Judge last night to celebrate my birthday. All five of us loved it! The space is warm and attractive, with cozy seating and lots of Boston terrier themed decor to look at. The jazz music playing in the background added to the relaxed vibe. The service was excellent, and the food was outstanding. The salmon, in particular, was the best we had ever tasted. We topped off our meal with carrot cake and limoncello tiramisu–so good!! We will be back again, for sure.

I’m in town visiting from Oklahoma and stopped into Hooper’s — absolutely fantastic experience. The food was excellent, fresh, and full of flavor, and the service was genuinely great from start to finish. Everyone was friendly, attentive, and welcoming. Really impressed — this is the type of restaurant every coastal town wishes they had. Highly recommend Hooper’s if you’re in Cohasset!

I want to start by saying how happy I am to see this lovely spot open. I’ve eaten here just once but will absolutely be back. The staff is truly competent, especially the kitchen. Here’s my take on what we had:
The dressed oysters were simply impeccable. Served with pineapple “caviar”, Fresno chiles and a delicate rice wine mignonette, it was a dish I’d come back for again and again. My only nitpick would be that the Fresno chiles were cut slightly too thick for my taste. I’d find the dish more balanced if they were shaved.
The Caesar was very nice, but may not be for everyone as it is not classic, with the shredded lettuce feeling a bit more like a sandwich slaw than a salad. Again, a personal preference/nitpick. The dressing was obviously house made and delicious.
The “Wellie” beef Wellington was memorable. The beef was cooked perfectly, the pastry was flaky top and bottom, and the duxelles was perfect. I found the spinach crepe brought a stodgy texture to the dish that I just could not appreciate and removed it altogether after a few bites. The same can be said for the mushroom velouté beneath the Wellington. It was far too thick for a velouté and did not live up to such a competent dish otherwise. I found the reduction sauce served with the accompanying roasted carrots (delicious! More, please!) a superior pairing for my tastebuds.
All-in-all a lovely experience and I look forward to more visits.

EVERY DETAIL IS PERFECT~ The new restaurant in town is such a gem! Loved everything about this place – the atmosphere , the staff and the food! The onion dip , the Holly Hill Farm and the rosemary chicken might be the best I have ever had! What a fabulous addition to town! Thank you Brian and Jen for bringing this to Cohasset!

Obsessed with this place! We went two nights in a row. The drinks are stellar, and Kristen is the best bartender! Food is phenomenal as well, and the vibe is very cool and unique. It’s beautiful inside as well. Can’t wait to go back.

The grass fed burger was the best I’ve had in a long, long time and it’s refreshing to see an actual 8 oz burger on a menu and a not smash burger for a change. Served with cheddar, bib lettuce, and a perfectly ripe beef steak tomato slice on a charred potato bun with house pickles. It’s a feast for the eyes and the taste buds. The burger to bun ratio was just right with this juicy, grass fed, goodness being about a half inch thick. Super satisfying to bite into and the house made special sauce, though tasty, wasn’t really needed because this burger lacked nothing. It comes with a generous portion of hand cut shoestring fries,( this has to be the only place on the south shore doing hand cut shoestring fries). Hooper ‘s Judge is elevating classics in a sophisticated but not stuffy setting.
