I wish I had more to review, but I talked my wife into ducking into this place for a quick lunch and received the coldest of receptions. You know that feeling you get when you are simply not welcome?

We walked in and up tho the counter where I asked if the “gentleman” had any menus we could look at, in response, I received only an abrupt hand gesture toward a stack of menus near a cash register . . . No greeting, no eye contact, not welcoming at all. I grabbed two menus and joined my wife at a table where we looked through the menus.

While the menus had some great pictures, we would have appreciated a little more detail about what was included with each menu item.

For the record, both my wife and I have spent time in South Korea where we enjoyed the food, we also frequently dine at local Korean restaurants, in fact, Dolsot Bibimbap and Kalbi (Galbi) are two of our favorites dishes.

Despite the extensive menu, what hung over our heads was and poor reception that we received upon entry. There were only two other diners in the entire restaurant, so it wasn’t a matter of them being swamped, it was just crappy service, or rather, no service at all.

I seriously doubt that we will be back for another try, there are simply too many welcoming restaurants around. I returned the menus and my wife and I departed, and still, not a peep from the man behind the counter.

I work in this area and frequently see groups of Koreans entering and exiting the restaurant while laughing, smiling and conversing. I’m not going to accuse them of prejudice, but perhaps the staff would have been a bit more welcoming if either I or my wife were of a different ethnicity, I don’’t know. Maybe we just arrived at the wrong time and with the wrong staff member behind the counter.

If the owner/manager reads this review, the only advice I can offer is “Do Better”.

Being a native Killeenite for 6 decades there are many Korean restaurants that are in our area. We have been called the sister city to Seoul. The family was wanting some korean soups or hearty stews and this restaurant that has embedded itself in the heart of downtown Killeen was highly recommended. I ordered the Gopchang-jeongol beef and intestine spicy stew. It was amazing ! It was like chitterlings with a korean flare. I hope that the Latinos who love menudo and the blacks who perfected chitterlings come and try out this dish! It will not disappoint. It comes with hot rice and banchan ( various small side dishes that compliment your meal of choice). Try it, you’ll love it. For the faint of heart there are an array of soups, noodle , BBQ beef and pork selections that will satisfy your palate!

Having traveled to S. Korea and experiencing the local restaurants, this place hits the spot. The service is great, while the food makes me reminisce about my time there. A repeat visit is a must to try the authenticity of the many dishes they serve.

This is a little hole in wall that is cranking out some good Korean food! The veggie spread was very delicious!

The Ox Tail soup was fantastic! Fall of the bone tender! Cleaned very well and brother was very hearty.

The spicy intestine soup was great! They did a great job if cleaning and preparing the intestines. No funk at all! The flavors jived very well and it came out piping hot!

The bibimbap was very straight forward and typical Korean Cuisine. It was on point with all the others I have had.

The staff was very friendly and attentive. If you’re looking for somewhere good to eat this is a great spot to try out!

Pretty good Korean food. Quiet place. Good banchan. The Sundubu jjigae was okay, fairly bland. Have had more flavorful and complex versions. The tteokbokki was also pretty plain. Felt like the rice cakes were just dropped into the sauce without much bringing it all together. Would be willing to try more dishes, but will wait to come back. Good price for the amount of food. Banchan was great!

I ordered the oxtail bone broth soup and it was to die for. I’d eat it everyday if I could! The banchan (side dishes) were a great assortment, full of flavor. This is the most authentic Korean food I’ve had in Texas outside of being in South Korea. I can’t wait to come back and try everything on the menu
