Ibis Restaurant in Virginia Beach is an upscale brunch spot that truly delivers on every level. The decor is stylish and thoughtfully designed, creating a beautiful and welcoming atmosphere that feels both modern and elegant. The ambiance is perfect for a relaxed brunch, whether you’re catching up with friends or celebrating a special occasion.
The food was outstanding. We enjoyed the oxtail hash, blueberry lemon pancakes, sweet potato cheesecake, and sweet potato cake—each dish was flavorful, well-prepared, and beautifully presented. Everything tasted just as good as it looked. The mocktails were also a highlight creative, refreshing, and the perfect complement to brunch.
The service truly set this experience apart. Larry did an amazing job making sure we had a great experience, and his coworkers took turns checking on us, refilling our drinks, and accommodating every need we had. We especially appreciated that the food was delivered as it was finished, allowing us to enjoy everything fresh and at its best. This level of attentiveness and care is truly unmatched in Virginia Beach.

IBIS Restaurant Review (Green Room – Weekday Booking)
We booked the Green Room at Ibis Restaurant during the weekday to celebrate my mother’s 60th birthday, and overall we had a really nice experience.
From the moment I walked in, I was promptly greeted and escorted to our private room. Our server introduced himself right away, and he truly set the tone for the night. His attitude was vibrant, refreshing, and extremely helpful. He assisted with water service, offered helpful tips for our birthday guest, and remained professional and upbeat throughout the entire evening.
Our party consisted of 17 guests, and the majority were children. We come from a large family, so children are naturally a part of our celebrations. The atmosphere at Ibis is elegant and upscale, and for the most part the restaurant was clean.
Service
The service was excellent. Our waiter worked very well under pressure and stayed attentive to all of our needs, even with a large party and kids involved. He definitely deserves recognition because he made our evening run smoothly and kept things enjoyable.
Food & Drinks
The food was overall really good!
• Red Snapper Meal: 10/10
• Lamb Chops Rasta Pasta: 8/10
The pasta could use more flavor, but the lamb chops were cooked medium-well and absolutely perfect.
• Short Ribs with Mac & Cheese: 8.5/10
The short ribs were falling off the bone and cooked to perfection, but the mac and cheese could’ve had more flavor.
• Appetizers: Salmon bites, oxtail empanadas, and wings were all enjoyable.
• Cocktails: 7/10
Tasty, but not a standout for the price.
Staff / Experience
The staff was very nice for the most part. At one point, a staff member came into the room and politely asked us to keep the noise down, mentioning that kids typically aren’t allowed unless they are a certain age. Most of our children were 10 and under.
I explained that when I booked over the phone, that rule was never mentioned. She stated that it was in the booking details, but honestly I didn’t see it—and when I went back to check, I could not find it. The only policy I saw was the cancellation policy:
“No shows or cancellations made less than 24 hours before your reservation are subject to a $100.00 per party fee.”
We understand restaurants have rules, but I do feel rules like this should be made much clearer during the booking call, especially by asking a simple question like:
“Does your party include children? If so, please be aware of our age restrictions and noise expectations.”
After that interaction, we felt a bit like we were being watched to ensure we didn’t damage anything. There were also cameras in the room, which added to that feeling. However, we left no damage, and we cleaned up well before leaving.
Final Thoughts
Despite the minor concerns, our waiter truly made our experience delightful and memorable, and because of him, I would return.
Overall: A great celebration with excellent service, good food, and a beautiful atmosphere just needs clearer policies for parties with children.

Where do I begin? I’ll start I’m with the host Mary Ellen by far theeeeeeeee BEST! Customer Service is beyond impeccable her food recommendations are spot on although every thing I tried on the menu was a 20/10. The snapper made me take another 45 min drive just to satisfy the craving. Mary recommend the oxtail empanadas NEVER had nothing compared you can tell they are made from scratch very flavorful. Thank you as always Mary Ellen I really appreciate your above and beyond service.

Really enjoyed myself tonight. The atmosphere was great! From the music to the lights to the decor. Customer service was excellent! You have a waiter/waitress but anyone who passes your table will assist you with gladness and no animosity towards the other staff. Everything I ate was flavorful and cooked perfectly! I had the collards dip, the lamb chops & rasta pasta (the pasta is really spicy, but good), and the sweet potato cheesecake. I loved every minute of my dinner and will be returning!

I had heard about Ibis Cuisine and wanted to try it out so I decided to celebrate my 50th birthday with family and friends there. Reserved the private room with a $200 deposit, 2
weeks prior. The reserving party was over the phone and very easy. My party arrived at 8pm, was greeted and taken straight back to the private room which had its own speaker system for the music and a separate bathroom from the other patrons in the restaurant.
The restaurant is beautiful, dimly lit with a exquisite lighted tree in the middle of the room.I can’t say enough about the décor. ABSOLUTELY STUNNING! Jeromy was our server, very friendly, knowledgeable and professional. He did an AMAZING JOB handling 20 people at
the same time! All guests had their drink orders, appetizer orders and dinner orders into the kitchen around the same time. The only thing is the food came out separately (few minutes apart), which was out of Jeromy’s control, I had the house salad-which was a house salad,
glazed lambs which sat on top of a bed of rasta pasta, a little spicy but DELICIOUS. I also tasted a lot of the dishes of my friends, the braised short ribs cooked in a red wine BBQ
sauce were DELICIOUS. The wing boil was SCRUMPTIOUS! (Definitely a next time getter) The jumbo party wings, Yukon potatoes, savory beef sausage and oh…..the corn. THE

I absolutely LOVED this restaurant! The food was amazing and seasoned very well. Nice selection of appetizers and cocktails. We had shrimp & grits, chicken & waffles, snapper & grits & oxtail hash. Side of lump crab cake. Had the brunch menu, will return for dinner menu. We were celebrating a friends anniversary and they received a complimentary dessert, with a sparkler in place of candle. Our friends got to dance with Caribbean celebration wings on. The decor was very beautiful and there was a private room available. Ibis thought of everything and definitely the chefs kiss!

My wife and I had been celebrating our 12th wedding anniversary, so she had been researching good places to eat in Va Beach. To my surprise, she had worked out a situation where our sister was meeting coworkers at this restaurant. We didn’t have a reservations, but we were greeted and treated with priority. We were seated at a high table. However, my wife had trouble sitting there, so the manager, Chris, found us a lower table right on time. ALL of the staff were kind, thoughtful, and attentive. With it being our first time there, our server, Unique, was very kind and patient with us. She gave us great suggestions. My wife ended up ordering the Short Rib w/Mac & Cheese and Broccolini meal, and I ordered the Cajun Shrimp & Chicken pasta. My wife didn’t like that the Short Rib was fatty, so she was able to switch out the meat for the Lamb Chops (somehow the chef leaned into the natural flavor of the lamb, and enhanced it ). That was exponentially better (10/10)! My meal was amazing as well. Usually, I’m used to the shrimp being the emphasis of the meal, but the chicken actually had a flavor that stood out. We ordered fries, the Sweet Potato Cake, and some drinks in addition to our meals. Everything was wonderful! The staff actually surprised us with a celebratory moment when they brought out our dessert…sparklers & wings Afterward, our sister sat us down in the photo corner to take some pictures. My experience here was really pleasant. The vibe is top tier, the food is outstanding, and the service is worth all the visits. If you are on a first date or celebrating anything, I highly recommend this spot. You will not be disappointed
