For starters, we ordered daal soup and tomato soup. However, they took quite a while to prepare, and we waited too long for our appetizers. The daal soup was fine, but the tomato soup tasted like canned tomatoes.
For the main course, we had chicken tikka masala and rice, but both were disappointing—the chicken was dry, and the rice lacked flavor.
Overall, there was a lack of Indian spices, and nothing was spicy as expected.
They accept cash and card
I had been to other Indian restaurants in Jena but this was the best
Chicken Vindaloo was really good, and the naans were really soft and delicious as well, they made me feel like I was back home. Quantity was enough for one person, and the naan provided with the Gerichte is actually quite big with 4 large pieces.
Lamm Biryani also tasted very nice, although the preparation was more akin to a Tawa Pulao rather than a Biryani.
Mango Lassi was amazingly refreshing and delicious.
Overall, really liked it and I plan to visit regularly!
Next order was sweet lassi. Expectations was high because my companion said mango lassi tasted amazing.
I ordered sweet lassi and it was served after a while and to my surprise I was served sweet buttermilk instead of lassi. Either my companion or the restaurant knew the difference between buttermilk and lassi.
Lassi and buttermilk are totally different. Would expect them to change the lassi recipe.
Butter chicken was really nice, and so was the naan.
*Food*
I had a Chicken Curry here last week.
The food was absolutely incredible! I had never been to this place and was blown away by the taste of their food.
*Portion*
The size of the portion was enough to fill me up and then some. I loved the fact that I was finally at a restaurant that made sure my stomach was filled to the brim :).
*Staff*
The icing on the cake was the fantastic service! The staff is the most polite I have ever experienced in all of Germany.
*Recommendation*
This is a solid 5/5 stars from me. Make sure to check this restaurant out the next time you are going out in Jena.
