A small business that has big heart. This small sandwich shop has been around a long time and with good reason. Unique sandwiches that are decent sizes for average pricing. The taste was great and it was gone quickly. The decor was seasonal and included things people had made the shop over the years. It had the sense you were invited into another’s home. Worth a visit!

I stopped by after seeing all the amazing reviews and honestly, I was disappointed. The sandwich was super soggy and lacked toppings. The lettuce was browning, I had two little slices of tomato and there wasn’t even a full layer of meat. There was two slices of ham on it. Although the sandwich was minimal, the bread, meat and cheese actually tasted really good and fresh. The corn dogs were freezer burnt. The nachos were horrible, worse than gas station nachos by far. The Chips were beyond stale and the cheese sauce was just bitter. We stopped by around 3pm Wednesday. I wouldn’t recommend this place at this time, but hopefully if I get a chance to try this again the food will be as amazing as the customer service!

I’ve been coming here my entire life with my Dad and siblings, now I come with my husband and kids. There is nothing like a Captain’s Delight! The soups are fantastic too. Everything is always freshly made right in front of you, delicious, and handed to you with a smile.

This little place was a happy surprise find for me when I went to the Post Office in South Beloit late this morning. I love Vienna beef hot dogs, it was almost lunch time and I was hungry. A Vienna beef hot dog for $2.89 – and the real deal at that! A pic of the menu below will whet your appetite.
The staff is friendly and the fellow who made my dog has had the place for 41 years. He’s serving up some good stuff at very reasonable prices.

I’ve been coming here for years, but I don’t live in the area anymore so when I drive by I just have to stop and get the captains delight sub they taste just like they did years ago and it feels like when I walk in there that nothings changed.

Stopped here while passing thru. Great deli sandwiches. Bread is super soft and lots of choices for sandwiches. Its been there since the 70’s and has that old deli shop feel. I had a “full” size sandwich and it was easily over a foot long, closer to 15″ I’d guess. Neat place, highly recommend as a great change up from subway.

The Captain’s Galley is a nostalgic little restaurant for me. I have been coming here since I was little. Fresh, delicious subs and sandwiches. Good price for a filling bite to eat. The Mediterranean Sub is my favorite go-to sandwich. There are cute little jokes and sayings to read behind the glass as you wait for your sandwich to be made and the customer service is great.
