after seeing this place on tiktok and having it come up on my doordash recommended I needed to try this place. I got the carne asada roll and the ceviche roll and I was shocked by how much it felt like I was eating actual ceviche. the fish was fresh, the flavors on point, my carne roll was HUGE and so worth the price. which was another plus how much you get for the affordable prices. maybe because it was lunch on a wednesday but the place was so surprisingly empty. my husband, roommate, and I love mexican food and we love sushi this place is our new favorite for both. we also bought churros and i havent had a good churro in so long. cant wait to come back!

Food was exceptionally flavorful and seasoned well. We ordered the ramen, tacos, and the Phoenix roll. We went to here as they were one of the late night spots still open.

Ambiance wasn’t busy for a Sunday night but the vibes were there, and I can imagine they get busy and can handle a lot with the seating options they have.

The staff are so comforting and welcoming. And the food!!! I’m quite picky about street tacos and rarely order them from restaurants… but these, completely worth it— so tasty and fresh! Highly recommend!

I have ordered the 4 street taco plate about a dozen times throughout this year and I LOVE IT!! By a wide margin, the most delicious tacos I’ve ever eaten in my life! The salsa they give you is tasty but what really sets them off is the creamy guacamole that comes with them! That guacamole is so good, my mouth starts watering when I think about it. I don’t have the vocabulary to properly describe how good this dish is! One of these days I’ll start working through the rest of the menu but even if they only sold the street tacos, it’s enough for me!

El jefe tacos has always been my favorite, I love the variety of food the taste and the cakes!!! I highly recommend it specially the customer service Sergio, Santiago omg I spaced out his name it starts with S …was very accommodating and very knowledgeable and great customer support via phone! I usually go in person this time I uber eats it, and he made sure he met my requests as needed. Thank you oh and spend a little more to get that ️ salsa habanera very delicious delicious

Clean place I liked the lemon sushi a lot and one of the fried tempura ones. The nachos were also delicious the only thing I didn’t find that appetizing was the jalapeno popper Rangoon things. Not my style tbh. However I was impressed the chef was quick. My friend and I came around 7 pm last Tuesday and wowwww we had just sat down and the food was already out. Amazing work. The girls taking our order were also really nice. 7/10 overall I would come back to try some more stuff but it’s a bit pricey so I’ll pass if there’s other good options around.

Few months ago, while down with COVID I had a food delivery from this restaurant that was amazing. Today I realized I was in the neighborhood, so I stopped in to order take out.
Friendly staff, nice open floor space. Very clean. The young man at the counter politely explained the menu and answered all my questions.
I ordered four speciality soft tacos, two side along with chips and salsa. We had four different sauces and sauces. Total before tip was $28.00 for three people. Amazing value!
Food was excellent. One of the best grilled shrimp tacos I’ve had. Everything was seasoned well, not too spicy but lots of menu options to increase the heat. If spice is your thing. I love flavorful Mexican food that doesn’t burn. Our dinner was perfect.
We didn’t try the sushi, but that will be our next adventure.
On a final note, as I waited for my order (not long at all) I watched fully 15 different delivery drivers come in to pick up food orders. This place clearly has a following!
Try it out…you won’t be disappointed!

First timer. I got the shrimp taco and the birria taco. These are large, standalone tacos that satisfy. I probably would have been fine with one and a side. (El Jefe also sells smaller street tacos.) They were dressed well and the sauces and salsas were excellent.
The interior is a little over the top. I’d prefer a hole in the wall look. Trying too hard to be hip but what do you expect in college town?
Ordering takes a while because there are so many opportunities to customize. Double-edge sword, I suppose.
Overall, I was impressed. I got flavor and the experience didn’t distract. I’m happy.
I plan to come back to try the sushi.
