Amazing place with an incredible atmosphere and even more amazing people. The coffee was excellent, and the pastries were delicious. I enjoyed my time spent at the First Free Coffee Bar. The atmosphere was peaceful and the music was calming. The coffee and tea was exceptional, and the furniture and decor set off a relaxed and chill mood. Not only were the staff kind and patient, but they brought our drinks to us, allowing a restful moment. They also have a children’s area with books and toys. Really it was wonderful and am totally coming back in the future!

Such a calming spot — perfect for getting work done and staying productive. They offer a great variety of sweet and savory food options, plus an excellent selection of coffee, tea, and ceremonial-grade matcha. The staff is incredibly kind and patient, which is a big plus for indecisive people like me. I had the quiche and my friend ordered a white chocolate iced latte — both were delicious! I’ll definitely be back. It’s also a great stop before heading to the farmer’s market right across the street.

Ordered a hot protein latte, and a iced latte. Both drinks came out wonderfully delicious. Staff were very polite and helpful. Atmosphere was very relaxed and welcoming. For the quality of the coffee, the price is more than reasonable.

A truly unique coffee shop, not to be missed. Airy, high ceilings, comfy chairs, tons of natural light, plenty of room to spread out and enjoy the strong wi-fi signal, live music, and more! Perfect as a gathering place for friends or just a quiet hangout if you need some “me time.” Coffee is fantastic, and they also offer beer and wine if you need to take the edge off. A hidden gem just outside of Charlottesville.

GREAT event space!!
So far, I have attended 3 events here, and it is a spectacular venue!! It is spacious yet cozy. Very clean.
I really think the amount of floor space sets the location apart from other venue options. At the last event I attended, I thought the counter space was especially excellent for serving charcuterie.
The events I attended featured speakers— great acoustics and stage set up all three times. I don’t know how to describe this perfectly, but the high ceiling really highlights the speaker. It’s almost as if you’re in a concert hall.
I would like to highlight that it was sooo easy to park!! So many coffee shops/venues in town have frustrating parking, and I love not worrying about that at all when I come here.
I envision it being great place for bridal/baby showers, retirement celebrations, etc.
