A very pleasant lunch with even better views. The portions were generous and the onion rings were fantastic. The brisket on the loco moco was smokey and flavourful, and the batter on the fish and chips were crispy.
Would recommend!
Our server was quick and really personable. He was pretty funny and very patient with the kids. Everyone we talked to from the staff was really kind and friendly. The atmosphere was very chill and casual.
Their menu was extensive. There’s a lot of variety and a few menu items you can tell were some type of fusion food because they made it their own way. Everything we ordered we enjoyed from the brisket, the sausages, the ribs, the turkey and the pulled pork. Our kids ate it up quickly too. The brisket was tender and flavorful. The turkey was not dry–it was juicy and delicious. The pulled pork was so tender and well flavored. The ribs did not fall off the bone but it was still juicy. We enjoyed the side of garlic mashed potatoes with gravy, mac salad, coleslaw, and French fries.
We were so full going home. This is a nice spot for some good food and a good time. I do recommend coming here and checking it out.
We started with two margaritas and the ahi dip. The dip came out unbelievably fast, even before our drinks arrived. It was lukewarm, almost like it had been pre-made and sitting out. The restaurant wasn’t busy at all — maybe one other table — so it wasn’t a matter of them keeping popular items ready to go.
For our entrées, we ordered the three-meat combo with mac and cheese and the garlic shrimp plate. The garlic shrimp came out hot and delicious, though the rice was pretty gummy, like it had been sitting in water too long. The three-meat plate, unfortunately, was cold. The meat itself had good flavor, but it was served chilled. The mac and cheese was also cold and tasted like melted Kraft singles.
I’d come back for the views and maybe to try different items — hopefully during a busier time when things are cooked fresh.
From the BBQ to the beer, everything was spot on, and the décor absolutely blew me away — all the famous Austin murals are displayed on the walls! It instantly felt like home. I’ve already told three of my Texas friends here about it, and I’ll be making a point to stop in every visit.
This place truly nailed it, and I hope the locals give it a try too. You won’t be disappointed!
