We ordered the lobster tail + half clams and fried lobster plate. Both were very tasty. The lobster tail is soft and tender. The sauce they gave was generous as well. We ordered with cajun sauce. It was on point! Will definitely come again.

I can’t even begin to describe how good everything about this was. An entire experience. 2 Lobsters Clams and Mussels in a butter garlic lime cilantro sauce. And potatoes and corn too. Paper lined table, gloves, obligatory bib and off you go. They dropped this massive tray of food and then brought us a side of Cajun sauce just to try. Staff was super nice and made great suggestions.
And the music was I don’t know who was in charge of the music, but great food and a banging soundtrack just made it 1000x better. Literally shoving buttery potatoes in mah face and dancing in the booth.
Digging into this meal with no utensils, just our hands, is exactly what we needed tonight.
We are definitely full and safe from any vampires. A very immersive meal and would highly recommend if you come to Boston.

Excellent food and excellent flavors! We had a 1 pound snow crab and half pound shrimp with corn and fries on the side and they were all amazing! Highly recommend the house sauce, ie cajun- loads of garlic and butter and paprika! Those flavours and fresh seafood was such a dreamy combo! Definitely going back but only going to opt for takeout so I can eat in my own home comfortably! If you’re dining in, be prepared to create a mess no matter how carefully you eat!

I ended up here due to an open mic event and instantly wanted to try the food when seeing other guests with theirs. The civet the table in white paper giving you a bib and tools. This means free reign to dig hands in to the bags. You get to pick from appatkzsds to poor boy sandwiches and then into the bags. Choose single or combos. Add the seasoning and spice level and they shake that up. Don’t forget the extras like potatoes, vegetables and my favorite quail eggs. I ended with snow Crab, mussels and shrimp as the main. They also have a rewards program so make sure you sign up. The drinks were great and they have quite a few options for cocktails. The bartender / manager was amazing. She was juggling a lot of hats and wore them all to excellence. So why the four stars? While every waiter checksd on us often, a couple seemed lost, there was some loud shouting between them in back and three of the high tops we tried were all held level by coasters and napkins. We lost half a drink before getting ours right. But I will definitely be back for the food and drinks and will pick a low tabke next time

We had a drink while we waited for our takeout. The small staff was so quick we weren’t even half way through our beverage when our order for 5 people was already made. Everything was hot and fresh despite the fact it took us 30 minutes fighting traffic before we made it back to the hotel. The best part was all the fried food that was not seafood, did not taste like seafood. Overall, great experience. We visit every time we come to Boston.

What a different experience this was. I enjoyed just about everything this place had to offer. I ordered snow crab legs with corn and crab.
The sauces are a bit spicey and it can quickly get expensive, but I think the food and experience is worth it. They shake everything in the bag for you at your table and then you’re served with the food.
I’m definitely going again!

11/24/18 – This was our first visit to the Shaking Crab. We were visiting our son in Boston and found this new restaurant on Harvard Street. It has only been open for a week. If you enjoy cajun style crawfish and shrimp, you will love this place. Be prepared to eat with your hands. Gloves and bibs are provided. Very friendly waitstaff. We will definitely return!

Food is absolutely delicious! Highly recommend the passion fruit mojito! It wasn’t busy when we went around 12:30….but that was great for me and my friend, as we got to catch up and enjoy the experience! You have to work for your food with the cracking and peeling…but that just adds to the experience! Ask for extra napkins…. you’ll need them! We got the double shrimp and crab legs in the medium Cajun sauce. Plenty of leftovers for us both and so easy to re-boil at home! Definitely recommend!

This was a very fun experience and an unusual way to enjoy a dinner, it is a really worth foodie experience. Food comes in a bag and you eat with your hands, very funny, very sharing, very friendly!! Food is fine, seafood was fresh, spicy but not overspiced, very tasty and a good amount for the price. Location is terrible, super cheap furniture, no attention at all for details and the personal is not trained at all even if they try to do their best!!
But, again, the experience is worth a visit, I will come back for sure!
