Our story began in 1981 in Tokyo, where Masanobu Hirosoko opened his first restaurant, Mr. HERO (later Izakaya Miyakonjo). He specialized in the soul food of his hometown, Miyazaki. In 2019, the second generation—Reo and Tomomi—brought this legacy to Hawaii. After starting at Shirokiya and navigating the pandemic, we opened Miyakonjo Bento & Catering in April 2021. At Miyakonjo, everything is made to order for maximum freshness. We pride ourselves on serving the best Chicken Nanban in Hawaii! Beyond our daily bentos, we also offer catering bentos and potluck-sized pans on the weekends. We are deeply grateful for the community that keeps our small business thriving. Every bento is served with gratitude and the spirit of Aloha.

I got to try the pork katsu bento for $6.95 and WOW it was good and it was enough for my lunch. Their bento is not premade, it is made upon ordering. The service was very pleasant and efficient.

not a lot of allergy friendly options. even the mochiko chicken had wheat in it :/
staff was nice and tried to be accommodating, but their only gluten free / dairy free meal is salmon. not an allergy friendly place to eat

Very good chicken nanban and it was very filling. I will definitely come back to try their other plates. There were only 2 or 3 parking spots there, so gotta be prepared to find street parking.

This place is a little out of the way, in an industrial area, but for the price… it’s pretty good! Would recommend, especially for catering. One thing I didn’t care for is, the tarter sauce, as it had onions in it. If you like onions it’s ok, if not, you’ll have to eat around it.

Parking is tight, but I got the mochiko chicken plate and it was absolutely ono! One of the best mochiko chicken I had and reasonable portions and cost!

My cousin ordered Bentos from these guys for my mom’s memorial service, and it was delicious! The fried fish, chicken and beef were so good, and I loved how the Bentos were setup a long with their colorful logo stickers. Will definitely order from them in the future for our events or even just drop in when we’re feeling hungry.
