It’s my Thanksgiving this year. I didn’t go anywhere with my family. I stopped by here because I wanted to relax and unwind, and I walked around with this sushi restaurant, which is the only one open. The chef, the owner, is a great person. I’m glad to meet him. I want to tell everyone that the ingredients here are fresh and up to standard because they come from seafood carriers, Japanese food, and they are good. There’s also Uni Toro Yellow tail and fish that are really fresh. I recommend trying it, and I hope the restaurant continues to maintain this standard. Thank you.

Very friendly owner. The food was excellent. My daughter hasn’t tried sushi before and the owner was very nice and had great recommendations. I would definitely recommend going here for sushi. They have japanese soda and mochi available as well

Wonderful Japanese style eatery (not because it’s sushi but how you sit at the bar, order, get your food). Not big so best for a date night or take out for larger orders. But soooooo fresh. Rice, fish, everything was the best we’ve had in a long time. Pay attention to the hours! Early March was closed Sunday, Monday and Tuesday, open Wednesday on. The Chef is a great guy too. Highly recommend going at least once during your stay. Try the Japanese sodas too. You won’t get a cavity like our homegrown drinks.

Absolutely loved my experience at Umi Sushi! The mochi was a delightful treat — the matcha flavor was hands down my favorite. I also tried the vegetarian sweet potato sushi, and it was incredibly flavorful and fresh. What really made the visit special was the person behind the counter — such a lovely, friendly, and passionate guy who clearly puts a lot of heart into the food he serves. You can taste the care in every bite. Can’t wait to go back!

Great experience! We popped in for lunch in between exploring all the Yorktown museums! The chef was super talented my husband and I started with the Large sushi & sashimi combo (6pcs nigiri & 12 pcs sashimi) and then a tuna avocado roll, a Musasi roll, and salmon sashimi. Everything tasted fresh and delicious! We washed it all down with some yummy Japanese sodas! Would recommend for those looking for a refreshing and delicious meal!

This is a very tiny place, but there’s free parking nearby and the food was really good. The service was exceptional. Minutes menu but super reasonable for sushi in a tourist area.

This place feels like a cozy hole in the wall with a great atmosphere! This place is owned by a lovely couple who make their sushi fresh in front of you. The restaurant is very small, only sitting about six people, but it was absolutely delicious! We would definitely visit again!

Came through Umi Sushi solo while I was out in Yorktown visiting from Cali. Real talk — this spot blew me away. The fish? Straight melt-in-your-mouth status. Hella fresh, clean cuts, you can tell they don’t cut corners. That quality hit different.
The owner showed mad love too. Super chill dude, made me feel like I was at home even though I was just grabbing takeout. That energy you don’t get everywhere.
If you’re ever out here, don’t sleep on this spot. I’ll for sure be back next time I’m in town.

Excellent, high quality sushi. I would eat here again for sure. The fish was fresh, the rice was the correct temperature with the sesame seed mix which is my favorite, the service was excellent and and the sake was great. The restaurant van seat about 8 people, it’s very cozy, and they also sell a lot of sake, so it had a neat wine store feel to it. Bright colors combined with ample lighting helps make it a very enjoyable place to dine in.
