Reviews
Everything we tried—from starters to desserts—was top notch and bursting with flavour. The staff were incredibly friendly and welcoming, which made the whole experience even better. A special mention to the bar guy who created a custom mocktail for us—it was genuinely one of the best mocktails we’ve ever had!
The Jackfruit Chilli was a delightful surprise and an absolute must-try. For vegetarians or vegans who love biryani, the Jackfruit Biryani is hands down the best option. We also enjoyed some iconic Indian street food like Misal Pav and various chaat items, all done perfectly. For mains, the Dal Makhani and Paneer Bemisaal were rich, comforting, and absolutely delicious.
If you’re in Manchester or Altrincham and want to experience authentic Indian flavours with exceptional hospitality, Dadar – Altrincham is the place to be. Highly recommended!
Here’s my honest opinion on the individual dishes:
– Dal Makhani – Good
– Bezawada Punugulu – Probably the only dish we genuinely liked
– Sea Bass Starter – Plain horrible. It’s crispy, but the semolina-based coating tastes bad, and it looks unappealing as well
– Chicken Tikka Starter – The marinated chicken felt a bit old and tasted off
– Pindi Chole – An absolute travesty
– Palak Kebab Kofta Curry – Far too sweet for my taste. I know kofta curries are mild, but this was much sweeter than usual. Didn’t like it at all
To top it all off, a 10% staff tip was automatically added to the bill. Whether to tip — and how much — should be the customer’s choice based on how much they enjoyed the food. I usually don’t skimp on tipping (and I paid the 10% this time as well), but it should still be my decision. The owners seem to be trying to replicate this horrible US practice in the UK, despite offering very little value in return.
The staff did ask about the food, but there’s only so much feedback you can give when the base recipes themselves are poor.
The ambiance was excellent, creating a warm and welcoming atmosphere. The staff were super friendly and made sure we had a great time.
I tried the Makhana Palak Paneer for main course and it was so delicious! The dessert was amazing too – a perfect way to end the meal.
Overall, I’d highly recommend Dadar Restaurant for authentic Indian cuisine and excellent service. A must-visit.
