If you’re looking for an authentic Mexican restaurant, don’t miss Taqueria Vallarta in Hermitage, TN. The food is authentic and has not been modified to the American pallet. What I mean is that they don’t add all the unnecessary sauces and sugar to cater to the U.S. pallet. This is authentic Mexican food. The restaurant is small and local. They have a small A/C unit in the window while the fan blades slowly spin. It was a little hot in the restaurant but you’re not there to keep cool. You’re there because you want to satisfy your hunger for real Mexican food. This place delivers with reasonable prices.

Feels like getting invited over to your friends house for Sunday dinner hosted by their grandmother. The menu is posted on a whiteboard in Spanish but the charming and bilingual waitress was available to guide me through the menu. I tried their chips and salsa made with onions and carrots, absolutely delicious. The steak quesadilla was PACKED with flavor! Juicy and griddled with onions. I will be coming back as frequently as I can! Also try the aguafrescas. I had hibiscus with strawberry. 10/10!

Food and service were Amazing. Very authentic cuisine. Watch out for their chips and “some sort of salsa”, delicious but hot. Very reasonably priced too, just bring cash! Will definitely be back.
