So I was looking for a chinese restaurant in the Union/Hillside area and was scared to almost go eating straight due to all the reviews. I took my chances with this restaurant since the reviews looked good but I was hesitant because there wasn’t that many reviews to go by. I’m glad I made the choice, the service and food was GREAT!!!! Although the place is small, it was on the clean side compared to other similar restaurants. The portions are large even the small orders. Of course I made the mistake in not asking for extra shrimps in the rice and broccoli. However, both dishes were great. I hope this little gem doesn’t change the service or the food. By the way, the fried chicken was ridiculously good and crunchy. I think this maybe the best chinese restaurant ever! The price was reasonable.

Was ordering chicken wings with shrimp fire rice so I asked nicely to just put the chicken separate from the rice because I didn’t want all the oil on the rice i guess I’m trying to be a lil healthy with the eating but regardless they tried to charge me for to separate orders , I mean how hard is it to put the chicken wings in a bag , So a regular meal would be around 6-7 dollars and if they would charge me separate it’s 10+ dollars for the same thing but only difference is they put the chicken in a bag like common. Anyway … I guess that’s there way to make extra dollar with this .

I moved to Union in the summer of 2003 and while getting the place ready we order out. Ever since we order chinese from Hunan Royal we have never stop.
1) They are clean.
2) The Food is good.
3) Friendly on the phone or over the counter.
Anyone that is looking for a place that is not looking like the grease spot in town along with good take out, then this is the place.

This place is one of the best chinese takeout places in the area. Food is always made with fresh ingredients and tastes great! You know when you get chicken and broccoli and it looks like the broccoli is old and wilted and the chicken doesnt look so good? NOT HERE!!!!!!!
