When we went, it was just the two of us in the restaurant, which we actually loved. If you’re someone who prefers a quiet, intimate meal and doesn’t want to make small talk with strangers while eating, this place is perfect.
The food and service were both excellent. Everything was very well executed, and the smoked fatty tuna was a standout — rich, smoky, and incredibly flavorful.
Calm, refined, and a really enjoyable omakase experience.
The chef’s attention to detail is unmatched—every piece felt like a personal story told through sushi. But the absolute showstopper? The Double Uni Nigiri. Creamy, briny, melt-in-your-mouth perfection. It’s the kind of bite that makes you close your eyes and just feel happiness.
From start to finish, every course was artful and fresh, with pacing and presentation that kept us excited for the next surprise. Service was warm, attentive, and deeply knowledgeable without being overbearing.
Yes, it’s a splurge—but worth every penny. This is sushi that reminds you why omakase is an experience, not just a meal. @sushitraveler
From the moment you step inside, Chef Shingo Ogane’s meticulous attention to detail is evident. The sleek concrete counter, perfectly illuminated to showcase each dish, provides a contemporary backdrop that lets the food take center stage. The progression of courses demonstrates an innate understanding of flavor building – starting with lighter, delicate cuts before moving into richer, more complex offerings.
The rice is a revelation – perfectly body-temperature warm, seasoned with a precision that allows each grain to remain distinct while holding together just long enough to reach your mouth. The fish selection reflects both seasonality and the chef’s decades of experience, with each piece treated with exactly what it needs – sometimes just a whisper of nikiri, other times an inspired combination of complementary ingredients that elevates without overwhelming.
At $225 per person, this experience delivers exceptional value through the quality of ingredients, level of skill, and genuine hospitality that makes each guest feel like a regular. Reservations are understandably difficult to secure, but the effort is richly rewarded with one of the most authentic and exceptional sushi experiences outside of Japan.
A true 5-star gem that reminds us why omakase remains the ultimate expression of sushi craftsmanship.
If you come expecting Sushi rolls with inferior fish decorated by nuance destroying squiggles of mayonnaise, Sriracha, sweet eel “sauce”, you will be disappointed. Truly for discriminating Sushi gourmands who are willing to pay the price of entry.
Observing Chef Shingo Ogane prepare every dish is really magical. I loved everything about this night.
I was concerned after booking that Tock charged a 20% service fee… so I was a bit apprehensive, but when you tip at the end of the meal it is only on beverages and any add ons you might order.
