We had an excellent dine-in experience at Landrace. The staff demonstrated a high level of attentiveness, and the hospitality was exemplary. They graciously accommodated our dietary preferences by customizing the omelet to include our preferred vegetables. While the avocado toast was somewhat underwhelming and could benefit from additional seasoning to enhance its flavor, the menu overall featured a diverse and appealing selection. In summary, it was a thoroughly enjoyable and well-executed dining experience.

4.5 Stars rounded up! Upscale dining with a modern interior and quiet atmosphere that works well for an intimate, romantic date night or a casual, comfortable (but mild-mannered) family dinner. Taking in a conveniently close dinner before a show at the Tobin Center, my teenagers and I felt comfortable in our jeans and polo shirts, but we would have felt equally at ease in full business suits.
Our server, Kim, was attentive and spot-on with recommendations, and the busser made sure our water glasses never ran dry. The most exceptional meal was the Wagyu burger. The others were good but not necessarily worth the price tag.
We may not make a trip here just for a random meal, but we would certainly use this as another pre-Tobin Show dinner. Then again, we may stop by just for the cheddar bacon biscuits!

Love all drinks here! Very tasty! I had a great time with my family. We ordered ribeye steak and grilled shrimp. Both were great taste. Smoked whiskey was so nice. I love it. Oysters were fresh. It’s a great restaurant in River Walk!

Had a wonderful dinner here! We were staying for the evening at the hotel and decided last minute to get dinner here after some plans changed. We had early dinner at 5:30 and were the only ones in the restaurant for a while. Atmosphere was beautiful, quiet, and romantic. Service was great. Dinner was very good. I do feel like my cut of steak had a little too much fat and I wish there was more to choose from on the menu. Overall, had a nice dinner and would return!

The food quality is as high-end as the restaurant itself. Desserts by Chef Amber are a treat for the eyes and the taste buds. The rose cream bunny ears cookie cake went above and beyond my fancy expectations. I had a pleasant experience and will definitely recommend it — and come back again to enjoy.

Worried when we arrived for dinner and the restaurant was empty. Food was good though. Had the Halibut and mushrooms, and the creole pasta. Lost a star because we ordered the deviled eggs that should have come with salmon roe, but had sausage instead. Later heard them tell another table that they were out, so it would have been nice to know before hand as well.

We were really disappointed in our recent dining experience. We’ve been here a couple times in the past and it was excellent, but the quality has significantly gone down. We came on a Saturday night before a show in the Tobin, and when we sat we were surprisingly the only table in the entire restaurant. There were 4-5 tables at most by the time we left. I ordered the mushroom and truffle soup and it was cold…not even room temperature. It was so cold that I thought it was purposely cold. When the waiter came by and saw I barely touched it and asked if I didn’t like it, my reply was “I didn’t know this was a soup served cold.” He then told me it was supposed to be hot so he brought me another bowl that was hot. Even hot, the soup was very flavorless and I barely finished half of it. My husband and I split the pork chop entree. I’ve ordered this before and it was 1 huge pork chop. To my surprise, it is now 2 regular sized pork chops which is fine, but both pork chops were cold. I didn’t want to complain and send them bacl, but one of my absolute pet peeves is cold food. Overall the drinks and service were great, but for the price we paid, we won’t be dining here again and I wouldn’t recommend to friends.

My wife and I, along with 2 of our dearest friends stayed the night at the Thompson. Using our Amex Fine Hotels points. We were so impressed with this Hotel and AMAZINGLY GOOD Restaurant. The food was creative and presented beautifully. Brisket Eggs Benedict. Who knew that would amaze. My wife’s avocado toast was simply Devine! We can’t wait to stay and eat here again. In hotel dinning felt more like resort eating.

During my recent visit to the Thompson hotel in San Antonio I enjoyed breakfast two of the mornings at the Landrace restaurant. Service was excellent, the food was delivered promptly and was absolutely delicious. The first morning I had steak and eggs with a small mixed green salad. The second day I had excellent smoked salmon Benedict with béarnaise sauce. I was seated at the restaurant near the window overlooking the SA Riverwalk. Absolutely beautiful on a crisp December morning! They also had a lovely patio area that would really be a great atmosphere for enjoying a meal.

Magnificent, outstanding and superb culinary experiences are to be found here. The chef is a James Beard award winner and it shows.
The pork chop was divine. Scallops were perfectly seasoned and seared to perfection. Pork chop is easily in my top 5. Breakfast was magnificent the next day – we returned.
