The wine list is decent but states the wrong vintages. Ordered a bottle of Stag’s Leap Artemis – marked as 2013/14 vintage. Turned out to be a 2016.
Suggestion to the owner: Either update the list or encourage customers to inquire. Any wine connoisseur will appreciate this much more than the disappointment of finding out that his favorite selection is being substituted without comment…
The medium pork chop arrived overcooked, beyond well done.
The strip steak on the othe hand was done perfectly, as were the crab legs. Likewise the creamed spinach and sauteed mushrooms were on par with the best NYC steakhouse.
What made this a delightful evening after all was the service: Mary quickly rectified everything in a quiet, most friendly and competent manner.
My take : Sam’s is a restaurant on the upswing and well worth a visit. From the moment we arrived my wife and I felt welcome and appreciated as customers – after all that’s the most important foundation for a successful establishment. Everything else can (and I am sure it will) be worked out in good time.
We will return.

Food was great but small for the price. And they charge 3% for employees that don’t get tips so they can have a fare wage.. there prices for the food should get that done.. 1 person will cost upwards of $80 for dinner.

Visited Sam’s for our wedding anniversary on a recommendation from our AirBNB hosts. The clam chowder was probably the best I have ever had. Ordered the fillet with mashed potatoes and my husband had the same with the addition of scallops. Everything was delicious. We visited during a slow time of year on a Sunday night so it was quiet and we were seated and waited upon promptly. A little disappointed that they were out of the crab cakes but otherwise, a very good experience.

Had a lovely dinner at sams with a friend. There wasn’t a wait and our server was very pleasant and attentive. We had the French onion soup, Caesar salad, hanger steak and ny sirloin. Also don’t forget to try their cocktails and desert!
