We have eaten at Milano’s for years. It has gradually gotten worse. We decided to never eat there again it was so bad. We had a family member that wanted to meet there last evening, so we went. It was even worse than before. They have an evening buffet but don’t cook until someone arrives. There were 5 of us and 2 pizzas that must have been from lunch. It was 15 min. before the 2 fresh pizza came out. The salad was worse! Most items were dried over. There wasn’t even lettuce! I said it before but again, I won’t be back.

I walk in and they said because of the holiday we are not having buffet and they had the lights on at the buffet bar. They should have more staffing because of new years eve. They use to be really good but now they are worst place to eat in town with poor food quality and bad customer service.

I’ve ate here before and never had a bad experience until today. It was awful! We sat down and got our drinks and menu, but we asked for the buffet because you can get pizza, cheese bread, and I was kinda looking forward to the chocolate pizza like they used to always cook, but never got it. It was about 5:15pm and the waiter said the buffet don’t open until 5pm. My husband and I both looked at each other confused thinking it is already after 5pm. So they don’t start cooking until somebody walks in for the buffet apparently and if it’s just two of you then they will say “buffet for 2” in the kitchen then they will start laughing at you like we can’t hear them. Waitresses there were very unprofessional and had no work ethic. Cussing in the kitchen and laughing while costumers are sitting in the dinning room. It seems like the same girl have been having the same complaint over 2 years now where she will go sit with a male customer and just laugh and goof off and not do her job when she was supposed to be training a new waiter. Also, there was three workers in there, two female workers and one male worker that was training. Both female workers was goofing off in booth sitting with a male costumer. Also, my husband’s drink was empty for a very long time for about 20 minutes before it got refilled and they never cleaned our buffet plates until we left.
Now I understand why there was nobody there and y’all need to start replacing employees before you lose your restaurant completely! Also, that girl training, you don’t want her training your new employees because she is not setting good examples for your restaurant, just saying.

They didn’t start cooking until someone sat down. We got here at 5:10 they said the buffet starts at 5 we waited till 545 before we got our food. The waitress just sit down with customers goofing off instead of doing their jobs. Cussing and acting up in the kitchen with customers in the dinning area. I’ve been sitting here with an empty cup for 20 min and the waiter who is serving us hasn’t even came by to check us and we are literally the only customers right now.

I live near Milanod in Walnut Cove, and eat their food three times per month. It is so consistent. The all meat Stromboli is great. Pizza is solid too, thin or hand tossed crusts are good for me, meat lovers or whatever. Get 2 large one toppings and get a free bread stick order. The buffet is good, they have a chocolate dessert pizza; it is a nice way to finish of lunch on Sundag.

It’s almost comical to have to relay my and my friend’s bad experience here. I’ve eaten here a lot over the years and always been pleased with the attentive service and good food. After today, I’m not sure I’ll ever go back. The food was as good as always and we both had the salad/pizza buffet.
It was a few minutes before 5 pm and the salad bar was not well stocked and it needed attention. I can overlook that because it was not yet dinner time.
The big issue we had was the horrible service. After seating us and bringing our drinks, the only unsolicited attention we got from the server was “you don’t need anything do you” spoken at us over a partition between booths.
I had to ask for salt and pepper at the table, ask for a knife for my salad, ask for Parmesan cheese and chili flakes, and had to go to the register to ask for a drink refill. The waitress then brought a full glass of beverage with no ice, so I had to request ice. My friend had to ask for a coffee refill. The server spent most of her time seated in a booth with another customer. There were only 2 other parties dining at the time so this girl wasn’t overworked. She spent most of her time seated in a booth with a male customer.
By the time my friend and I made a few trips to the buffet for salad and pizza, our table was littered with dirty plates. They remained on our table for the entire dining experience.
Upon paying the bill (for which we did not receive a ticket) this same server was at the register. She did not greet us, inquire about our experience or thank us for our business.
This place has had phenomenal servers in the past. If this server is representative of how it operates now, no wonder there was no dinner rush. I’m attaching a photo of the pile of dirty plates the server never bothered to attend to despite trips to bring me the many items I had to request of her.

I just ordered yesterday from milano’s in Walnut Cove. I called in my order so it would be ready for pick up on my way home from work. When I got there they told me they didn’t have my order I’m guessing it just was misplaced. I had to wait for them to make my order. The cashier’s / waitress was very friendly and nice and the restaurant looked clean. I hadn’t been to the restaurant since before COVID but the food was good.
