I work in Charlotte at least four times a year, and every single visit includes a stop at this pub. The service is consistently top‑notch, the food is delicious, and the atmosphere is exactly what you hope for in a great neighborhood spot.
What truly sets this place apart is the staff. Sam and Daniel are outstanding. They remember me no matter how much time passes between visits, which speaks volumes about the level of care and hospitality here. Visited Charlotte on a solo trip and absolutely fell in love with Mortimer’s! During my four day trip, I ended up going every single day. Sammi and Daniel are the two best bartenders I’ve crossed paths with and their attentiveness, friendliness, and top notch service made the experience more than memorable. Their espresso martinis are sooo good and their food is so incredibly delicious. Mortimer’s was the highlight of my trip!

Food is pretty good but wasn’t amazing! It is definitely a very cute cafe and pub to eat at and My friends and I went about 4:30 so the vibe was pretty slow. They gave us straws without the paper on them which was weird with covid around but we just dismissed it and kept going. For the first time, it was good but I would not come back. Service was a 5 star rating!!

My wife, daughter & I were headed back to our hotel from Discovery Place on Saturday afternoon and stopped by for a quick bite to eat. We ended up hanging outside on the patio for a couple of hours and really enjoyed ourselves. Sam was running the show when we were there and she was awesome. She went above and beyond to make sure we were having a great time. Top notch service, delicious food & a great atmosphere.

We ate here yesterday for first time. I don’t recommend at all. We were never greeted like others were when we first arrived. They don’t tell you to just sit at a table bc they have no servers. We sat at a table for 10 min with no help before we realized we had to go to bar to order. We had to order food and drinks at the bar and then at the end they charged gratuity. Gratuity for what? We as the customer did all the work in place of not having a server. You should not be able to charge gratuity for a party of 2. Also it is not posted on a menu nor in the restaurant that they automatically charge gratuity on everyone’s bill. Whether it’s a party of 1 or more. This is illegal!

Stopped in for a quick late lunch. Ordered the tenders dipped in chipotle honey mustard which my husband loved and the buff chix BLT salad. Both we delicious. The buffalo vinaigrette was so good! Be prepared for some major buffalo flavor. The service was great especially considering there were two people running the entire restaurant.

Food was delicious. Service was also nice. Found the bartenders and staff to be friendly. Only complaint was the automatic tipping included in my bill. Not sure if this was solely for CIAA or customary. Eitherway, it’s off putting. I tip well but not when my hand is forced.
