Ancy, the owner of the place welcomed us with her beautiful smile and we were served by Santosh who was very friendly and attentive.
Their food was delicious and it was very well presented.” Chef’s special” & chicken tandoori and garlic bread…
We strongly recommend this incredible place for lunch/ dinner if you want to experience something nice in Gibraltar.

Service was outstanding (~4.9/5), attentive and friendly throughout, which really helped the overall experience.
Overall, this lands at about a 4-star experience. We’d definitely return for the Indian food and the service.
Staff were really nice, especially the lady who had a big smile on her face when we walked in.
Defo recommend! HAPPY DAYS!
We didn’t hold back. Our feast was a blend of Indian classics, a sushi roll, and a side of pickles that surprised us with its unexpected depth. The chicken curry was rich and aromatic, with tender pieces of chicken bathed in a velvety, spiced tomato-based sauce. The flavors were warm, comforting, and well-balanced—nothing overpowering, just pure, traditional goodness. The chicken tikka masala was a showstopper. The sauce was thicker and creamier than the chicken curry, clinging to every piece of perfectly grilled chicken. Smoky from the tandoor, slightly sweet from tomatoes, and packing just enough heat to make you reach for another sip of water.
The garlic naan was puffy, slightly charred, and drenched in just the right amount of buttery garlic. The edges were crisp, but the center was soft enough to scoop up every last drop of sauce from our plates. The jira rice, delicately spiced with cumin, was the ideal canvas to absorb the richness of the curries. Fluffy, perfectly cooked, and subtly nutty. But the best dish of the night was the vegetable Manchurian. Imagine crispy vegetable dumplings, golden brown and packed with shredded carrots, cabbage, and a medley of finely chopped ingredients, all drenched in a deep, dark red sauce that shimmered with just the right amount of oil. It was an umami bomb—garlic, ginger, soy, chili, and something almost smoky in the background. Every bite delivered a different sensation: crispy, saucy, spicy, and sweet. I could have eaten three bowls of this alone.
The cucumber roll was a refreshing contrast to the spice-heavy dishes, simple, clean, and crisp. The rice was seasoned just right, and the cucumber brought a cooling effect that paired well with everything else on the table. With the sushi, we had a side of mixed pickles, which at first glance looked like kimchi, but the flavors leaned more toward an Indian pickle—tangy, slightly fermented, and bursting with the sharp acidity of vinegar. The cabbage was crunchy, and hidden within were bits of pickled vegetables, adding an unexpected but welcome bite to the meal.
Ferns’ interior is on the smaller side, but what it lacks in space, it makes up for in personality. The staff was absolutely wonderful. Every interaction was warm, every smile genuine. There was a contagious joy in the air, the kind that makes you feel at home. The outside seating looked inviting, but the rain kept us indoors today—a shame, because I could imagine how lovely it would be to dine under Gibraltar’s open sky.
Ferns is a must-visit for anyone craving bold, perfectly executed Indian flavors in Gibraltar. The vegetable Manchurian alone is worth the trip, but really, everything here is made with care and packed with depth. Whether you’re fresh off a hike or just strolling through town, this little spot will fill you up, warm your soul, and leave you planning your next visit before you’ve even finished your meal.
The menu is quite big and that normally worries me a bit, but in this case nearly everything we had was absolutely delicious.
The chicken sizzler was recommended by the owner, and it did not disappoint. The vegetable curry was super flavourful, and the chicken korma was also very good. The mushroom rice was tasty.
The only letdown was the cheese naan. Too much of the wrong cheese and the bread itself isn’t what I’m used to for a traditional tandoori naan. Perhaps down to personal tastes, but I would happily return and just skip the naan.
The portions were huge, and the prices were very reasonable.
