Thai Submongkoi Naka in Peculiar, Missouri, is truly a hidden gem! This restaurant is a best-kept secret for a reason—their Tom Yum soup is extraordinary, bursting with flavor and just the right amount of spice. The vegetable fried rice was equally impressive, perfectly cooked and loaded with fresh veggies.
The service was excellent; the staff was friendly and attentive, making our dining experience even more enjoyable. The place was spotless, which added to the overall positive vibe.

Great food here! I was a bit confused by how they packed our sticky rice (we got takeout), it was wrapped in seran wrap and both orders were in one container. It was super tasty though. The mango sticky rice was new to me as well but it was super tasty! This is my new local favorite!

I ordered the seafood fried rice, crab rangoon and Thai iced tea. The absolute best was the crab rangoon with the sweet chili sauce. The seafood in the fried rice was over cooked and had none of the flavor. The rice was over cooked and mushy, but it did have a good flavor. I also ordered my seafood fried rice with mild spice. Apparently this means you don’t want any spice at all. As for the Thai tea.. what do I say?? It was a very odd flavor. The bright orange color was quite unnerving. I have had good Thai food and this is not it.

Fantastic location with a great flavor for the southern end of rural KC zone. But this menu would hold up in many places. the location is tastefully decorated, and the service is top notch and operates very timely.
Temperature: if you’re a lightweight, don’t go above mild. Medium takes it up a level, while still keeping flavor. I have never ventured higher

What a gem this small town has! We often do carry out, but we dined in yesterday evening, and it was fantastic! They were able to quickly pull together a spot for our group and accommodate our requests. We always love the Pad Kee Mao (drunken noodles), pineapple rice, and the different curry options. The apps were tasty too: lumpia, dumplings, chicken satay, etc. We appreciate the different spice levels and the option to add more for those pepper heads in the group. The service was great; they are cheerful and on top of everything. They now serve alcohol, so you can get beer or wine with your dinner too. Definitely stop in here to get some great Thai food and a boba smoothie.

When I do go out to eat this is a place I love to go to. The atmosphere inside is relaxing. The service is fast and friendly. The people who work there work HARD. And it shows in the food. Quality and flavor! It’s a fantastic place and I recommend anyone and everyone go. There’s a fun game shop right next door too!
