Alex is the BEST cook ever! He was superior when speaking to us and with my daughter, it was her birthday and he made us all so comfortable! He was using gen z jokes around and we couldn’t help but chuckle! This was the best time Ive ever visited this place, my food was absolutely ELITE. The mix of customer service, experience, and the food was amazing! THIS MAN WAS THE BEST! Thank you Izu!

This was our second year coming for Christmas for hibachi. It’s a great time. The chefs are always entertaining and engaging. The food is delicious and there is always enough for leftovers. The hibachi tables are group tables so you’ll likely be with strangers but, usually, this only adds to the experience.

Alex was our chef today, and in all of my years eating at Japanese restaurants I have never had food as excellent as he prepared!!! Alex also is also gifted with such a wonderful personality and hilarious sense of humor! The miso is the best we’ve ever eaten. I don’t normally like miso, but this was sooo good.
The boys loved their rolls! (Eel, mango avocado, and shrimp tempura). I enjoyed my hibachi steak, but wish filet were an offering. My steak was cooked correctly (med rare). The server was incredibly nice and did a great job of checking on us and being prompt. We will FOR SURE be back!

This is the best sushi I’ve had since I moved to the area over 7 years ago! The atmosphere is very relaxed, but with speedy delivery of food. The presentation of dishes was spectacular. Our server was excellent and we will be coming back on a regular basis. 10/10!!

The food was very good, the atmosphere was very good, the service was awful. We had 8:30 PM reservations and it was clear from the moment we entered that they were trying to push us out very quickly. The waitress was rude, unfamiliar with the menu and broke several rules of good restaurant service. She asked for a drink order before we even sat down and saw the menu. She pushed out the dishes before we finished the previous. When she wasn’t badgering us to move along, she was FaceTiming with friend. Worst of all, she delivered the check while we were still eating our main course and then hovered over the table waiting for payment. We are local and have been to Izu a couple of times with decent service. Clearly their commitment to good service no longer exists.

Food was alright however I would definitely give this place a chance. Since we went so close to closing and it was also takeout. The owner is very nice. She loves her business and puts a lot of hard work into the place and actually wants to know you. If I was able to really eat this food like I used to I would come here a lot but since we switched our diet, I very rarely end up in place like this.

Brought my daughter (6) and 10month old son here for an early dinner/late lunch. We were the only people in the restaurant on a Monday afternoon. They still did the hibachi for us, and gave amazing service, both the chef and waitress were so sweet and attentive! 100% will be back! I believe our waitress was Rona and we had the head chef ! ❤️❤️ 10 out of 10!

After many times of passing this restaurant my husband & I decided to stop in. Was quickly greeted and seated. We were so overwhelmed with their menu because we wanted to try many of their items. Our waitress Rona helped us with our decisions. We enjoyed all our shared dishes. Hands down, the best Miso I’ve had in my life (and I’ve been to many Michelin star restaurants in the NYC – Tristate area). A very nice surprise and super delicious food. We will be repeat customers.
