Sorriso Kitchen does both. Since becoming the Food Czar I’ve come across some pretty special places — but Sorriso Kitchen in Chatham is on a whole other level.

This is a nice family owned restaurant with an attentive and friendly wait staff. It’s very popular. That said, The Benny (Eggs Benedict) is supposed to be served with a poached egg but the egg was the equivalent of soft boiled. Totally solid Yolk. This is not the first time this has happened. The last time it happened I told the waitress who came back 25 minutes later with a single poached egg in a bowl expecting me to just plop it onto the ice cold dish that had been sitting on the table. It was totally unappealing and I could not eat it. The owner removed the item from the bill and I was satisfied with that. I was surprised when the poached egg was solid again today. This is primarily a breakfast restaurant and they should be very good at poaching eggs. Secondly, the hollandaise sauce is thick and an off-putting orange color – not the smooth bright yellow I am accustomed to. I prefer normal hollandaise sauce. Thirdly, the lemon ricotta pancakes was two semi-warm basic pancakes with a large dollop of very cold lemony whipped ricotta on top. Also very unappealing. Every recipe I have seen of Lemon Ricotta pancakes has those ingredients incorporated in the pancake – not slathered on top. I think that Sorriso has done better and likely will do better in future. Maybe it was just an off day.

Visited today with my older son and husband for brunch. It was the 4th time I was here and every time I come it gets better and better. No matter what time I go, the restaurant is always crowded and it’s no wonder because the food is top notch and ambiance is cozy! I usually get the Sorisso sandwich with crispy prosciutto, eggs, cheese and their own special sauce on sourdough… Delicious!

What really pulled at my heartstrings was when the owner’s gifted employee came in to start his shift and he took his coat off for him. This man (you can easily see) has a heart of gold! It’s such a pleasure to see kindness like this in a business owner. No wonder this place is so successful! He has all of the right ingredients in place to create enduring patronage!

We had a great Saturday brunch here! We had to wait about 50 minutes for our party of 4 to be seated but it was easy to pass the time exploring the shops in Chatham. All the food was delicious — we can’t wait to come back and try more of the options!

We visited for the second time and loved the experience. Everything tasted so fresh, presentation was lovely, very friendly and welcoming atmosphere. Gluten free toast was available ✅

Returned after a couple of years away and it’s even better than before! Best breakfast in Morris County, if you ask me. Fresh ingredients, great portions, healthy & creative menu options aside the old standbys, real maple syrup; I could go on and on. Such a refreshing departure from bland diner options. Will return again and again.

Excellently prepared, and tasting dishes. The staff is super nice and they obviously care about what they serve.
We went for brunch and ended up hitting the peak hour so we waited about an hour for a table, but it was well worth the wait.
The inside is beautifully put together and is nice and cozy.
I highly recommend this place, particularly for brunch. This is a sought after place, and it shows in the quality that they serve
Update February 2025:
Wait times, particularly for larger groups can still be a challenge, but worth the wait.
Staff are still awesome and food is still good. Great brunch/lunch spot
Update July 2022:
This can be a very busy place, particularly for Sunday brunch, plan on an average wait time of 20-40 minutes at peak times, come early or later to avoid the rush, but they may be out of items the later in the brunch hour.
The staff here are fantastic, always love chatting with the owners, so friendly!
Update October 2022:
Apparently a few months back they got their old chef back and he has definitely changed up many items on the menu, but I have to say, I’m sad the previous chef left. I used to always look forward to ordering the Maple Bacon Beauties, but that dish was changed up and i really don’t like it anymore. There just something lacking on many items over the past few months, and I’m a bit bummed.
Overall it’s still a nice brunch spot, but it seems to have lost it’s best touches on the dishes, so I’ve downgraded the star rating. It’s ok

This place was such a great find by my wife. We came here for breakfast as soon as they opened at 9am people were waiting to enjoy their breakfast as hopefully as much as we did. We were greeted by very friendly staff and the service was quick and they were very attentive. The food was sooo delicious! We started with the maple bacon beauties, they had a Wonderful crunch from the pecans and a sweet and salty flavor from the chunks of bacon. We then shared a egg platter with the crispiest potatoes I ever had for breakfast. We also tried the French toast which was so soft and creamy and the edges had a little crisp to them, they were perfect. We really enjoyed our meal and the restaurant. Can’t wait to pass by again when we are in the area.

Booked their special taste testing menu and was very happy of the food courses provided. Everything was so well presented and the flavors matched perfectly with the dishes. Loved the squash soup and the apple tart with honeycomb. A wonderful experience with the nicest hosts and staff. For sure will try to book for next month.

What a wonderful family owned business. I had the pleasure to dine here with my family this weekend and it was just so lovely. They have a great reservation system, quick text to you, so we could wait in the care with the family. We were seated right by the cashier, while I thought that would be a disaster, it was actually very pleasant and gave us a chance to chance with Karen the owner. She was lovely and was very engaging. What a wonderful host she was. We dined on breakfast and lunch.
Falafel Burger w. Sweet Potato Fries – Really big and filling, needed a bit more of the sauce so it didn’t taste dry. The fries were amazing. Good size and super tasty, not dry at all. DO NOT CHANGE A THING. 🙂
Brioche French Toast – Quantity was fantastic and tasted so delicious and very filling our soon is very picky but he absolutely love this.
Cinnamon Bun Pancakes with Home fries: This was delicious though I should have short stacked them. It wasn’t too sweet which is what my expectation was and the home fries with their seasoning was just delicious. I also had scrambled egg with cheese it was very fluffy. My wife is the only one I know that makes it fluffy so this was amazing.
Overall the experience was amazing. The only issue we had and why I gave a 4 out of 5 was the lack of non-pork options on the menu. It would serve them well to have turkey bacon or sausage on the menu. Overall the experience was amazing and we will be back again. Thank you Karen.

Very cute spot for breakfast/ brunch. The service was wonderful and the food was great. I thought the eggs were a little under seasoned but a little salt and pepper fixed that easily and the potatoes were delicious, I loved how they cooked them!
