This is the place we went to have a quick bite when we moved to Diamond Bar 8 years ago and then we found so many other places to eat and almost forgot this restaurant. Recently we visited this place again, the menu is same except price a little higher. The quality of food are same but now they gave you disposable chopsticks instead of re-usable ones in the past. Other than that, not much change, always busy but the waiting time is tolerable. I like this beef BBQ rib combo with seafood tofu soup and they are good. They don’t have steak knife but so provide a pair of scissors and a small pair of tongs so that you don’t have to eat BBQ beef with just chopsticks.

My family and I are loyal regulars at Young Dong Tofu House—it’s hands down our favorite among all the tofu houses we’ve tried!

The restaurant is always clean, and comfortable, and the service is consistently excellent. The staff are attentive and often check in to see if we’d like more side dishes, which we truly appreciate.

Among the side dishes— the kimchi, bean sprouts, and fish cake are my top favorites—fresh, flavorful, and always satisfying. The tofu soup paired with brown rice is simply perfect. And the best part? The rice that gets crispy at the bottom of the hot stone pot can be softened with roasted barley tea to make a comforting scorched rice soup—it’s such a delightful way to end the meal.

Every visit leaves us full and happy. It’s not just a meal—it feels like comfort in a bowl. Can’t wait for our next visit!

This is my family’s go-to spot for tofu stew. Very yummy banchan, excellent kimchi tofu beef and reasonably priced. I am definitely coming back

This restaurant is truly delicious. All the side dishes and main dishes are incredibly tasty and generously portioned. The servers are friendly, but it took almost until the end of the meal to get the rice bowl we requested. In terms of food, it’s top-notch, but service-wise, it’s average.

I stayed in LA for over a week and tried various restaurants and delivery food options, including Chinese and Western cuisine. (i’m from korea)
Honestly, I always felt that prices in the U.S. are higher than in Korea, and that the value for money was lacking compared to Korea. I also wasn’t satisfied with the taste. But for the first time, I was truly satisfied with the food at this restaurant.

Compared to Korean restaurants, the food was quite tasty, and the portions were shockingly large. In particular, the yukgaejang (spicy beef soup) is enough to fully satisfy four women or three men. I think three people could easily share one yukgaejang and one pork cutlet and feel completely full. The pork cutlet, yukgaejang, and bibim naengmyeon all came in very generous portions and tasted quite good.

This was the first proper restaurant in the U.S. that I was genuinely satisfied with. I’ve shared my honest, personal opinion, so please take it as a reference.

Been here for their tofu pot for years, but decided to try something different today, due to the 110+f weather.
Ordered pork cutlets and glass noodles. Both are delicious.
BTW, their kimchi is the best around the town.

Come here with a BIG appetite. They have HUGE portions! Excellent banchan, tofu soup and freshly cooked rice served in stone pot. They serve the best kimchi in town. Lots of tofu shops around, but YOUNG DONG is my favorite.
You won’t regret.

This is literally one of my favorite restaurants ever. Been coming here for over 15 years and they’re always consistent. Quality, tasty, and the service is amazing. Brian is quite possibly the best waiter in the world and you can tell he really cares. Its the little things that they do, like always making sure your water and tea is full, or putting a napkin over the hot stone pot lid so you don’t burn your fingers. They care and they always have. Needless to say, I’ll be coming for another 15 years, and then another.

Honestly my new favorite Korean place. The banchan here is so incredibly good. They are a bit skimpy when it comes to refilling them (especially the kimchi) but it’s probably because they’d prefer for you to buy a whole jar of it. Every dish has amazing flavor and the service is great!
