A fantastic pizza joint in Long Branch. Great people running the show. They scorched the crust on the to-go reheats but this pie was still fantastic. Garlic Margherita was on point. Sicilian and grandma’s were both killer. Friendly people making fresh, deelish pie. Give ’em your business. **Update** The honest hard-working family dynamic of this great pizza joint was on full display when the owner sent me a message humbly thanking me for the review and apologizing for the burnt reheats. This is customer-focused business at its best. Give them your patronage.

Ordered takeout while at work. The plain pizza was ok. Could have used more salt. Wish you could order garlic powder to accompany the order, that would have made it taste better. The pepperoni was good because it added salty flavor. The crust had a nice bite.

Scala’s is an incredible pizzeria. Was great before but even on another level with the new ownership. The pizza is incredible, the food is too. Always adding specials and have different types of pizza. Staff is great. Can’t go wrong with Scala’s on the shore, best place to eat!

The absolute worst pizza in Long Branch! I cannot believe anyone would give a good review. We are local residents and business owners. We have been customers for many years prior to new ownership. Tried this place so many times over the last few years, both dining in and carry out, and giving it the benefit of the doubt. No comparison to previous owners. Consistently horrible. Pizza sitting on trays completely dried up and looking like it’s been sitting all day. Pasta had zero sauce. A few weeks ago, I was running late to get home and went in to order 4 slices of the grandma’s pie to go. Upon ordering, I was immediately told, it’s $4.00 per slice, when i didn’t even ask about the price! This evening, my friend went in and ordered 4 slices of plain to go. It was taken from a shelf below the case that already looked dried up and tasted old. Our experience exactly.
Needless to say, we, along with our friends and neighbors in Long Branch will never be back again.

Nice place and like 10 minutes from the beach. We always go there when in Long Branch beach. Before we were ordering wraps but today decided to order medium size pizza pie. Waiting time was kinda long about 30 minutes look like the cooking lasagna or something else. Personal was friendly and nice. Overall regular nice pizza place not far from the beach but too long waiting time for pie this only 4 stars.

We are true pizza foodies. I was not disappointed with the Sicilian pie at Scala’s. The crust was light and airy. The cheese and sauce had a nice balance for a perfect bite! The staff was warm and welcoming on a rainy Saturday afternoon. Good music and friendly vibe! We highly recommend! Enjoy!
12/29/23 I revisited Scalas tonight, and was reminded why I gave a 5 star review 9 months ago. This time I shared a garden salad with my husband. The split portion was perfect and the salad was cold, fresh and crisp. I followed that with the Sicilian pie. It was light and airy, just like I remembered. It could have had less oregano, but I’m not a lover of oregano. My favorite part was the atmosphere. Marge and Kaylee were super sweet and gave us Rockstar service. The other patrons were having good conversations amongst themselves, as I soaked in all of the beautiful holiday decorations. The music was low but perfectly audible. My husband was happy watching the Hockey game that Marge put on for him. Overall, the experience was as I remembered if not better. Keep up the good work, Scala’s.

So I was doordashing, came in earlier, and the food looked really good, went back after I was done, told them how Saturday was to taste their food… I ordered it, fried cheese, ravioli and 2 pre-made slices. It took forty minutes for me to say, forget it, give me my money back.. Not one of the 3 people working there said, sir, you know what? Take the food, see how it is. My apologies, they just gave me my money and I left… I don’t know if their food rates with their service, but their service SUCKS
