Fantastic chicken! I’d say wet batter style. Crispy shell, steamy tender meat. Seasoned well, but not spicy (usually covers up poor technique). Similar in combination of flavor and texture to great SoCal joints like Golden Bird in Ladera Heights (closed) or Honey’s Kettle Fried in Culver City. Delicious! I also had the fried okra… nice chunky bits and well breaded, and the Mac and cheese… classic creamy style rather than baked. Took my extras back to the hotel for breakfast.
I’d pass on the potato skins next time.

I was so upset to see my food on a Dixie plate stabled together. Everything tasted under seasoned I ordered fries, shrimp and 2 wings and the fries tasted overcooked the shrimp tasted overcooked and the wings were under seasoned.

My wife knew about this place because she grew up in Hillsborough. The flavoring on the chicken is second to none!! Big pieces and served fresh! Their sides are great too. The gravy on the mashed potatoes is flavorful!
