Atmosphere gave us high hopes, it really is a cool spot/ building. However food and service both incredibly underwhelming. Please for the love of god, do a better job cleaning your mixed drink glasses.. You could tell the old fashioned glass I used hadn’t been properly washed in a very long time. Wife and I ordered same exact steaks made the same way and they couldn’t have been cooked more different (and rather tasteless). If you want a cool spot to have a local beer, Highly recommend. If you want a good steak, hit mancys, final cut, Cooper’s hawk or J Alexander’s.

It is a beautifully decorated, upscale atmosphere. The meals were beautifully displayed. I was told the food was good. There were little to no gluten-free options. I ordered a small salad with crandberries, walnuts and bacon dressing and a side of prosciutto brussel sprouts, and was told those items were safe (gluten-free). Luckily I dipped my fork into the bacon dressing, thought it looked glutenous, and asked if there was gluten in it. Yes. So, my bacon salad didn’t have bacon. The prosciutto brussel sprouts were good.

The service was terrible! No water, drinks took forever. It was not crowded. We were there for 2 hrs before we even got bread , we had to ask him to take our food order! 3 appetizers came out 1/2 hrs apart.. it was shrimp cocktail, calamari, and wedge salads!.. , our waiter kept disappearing and making excuses.. bread was in oven but other table were getting theirs! Our 100.00 steaks were cold! First time there for 2 of our couples and will never go back, very disappointing for our 8 person holiday dinner! Do not recommend.

Food and Service were great, had the New York strip. My only complaint is the higher end restaurants in Toledo seem to draw large groups for birthday parties. I wish large groups such as these could be seated in the private rooms they are as these groups typically get very loud.

Well after a couple people told me how good it was when they had it several years ago my wife and I decided to give it a go last night. Giant mistake. We made reservations which upon arrival were clearly not needed on a Saturday night (should have been red flag #1). After standing at the hostess stand for about 5 minutes the hostess finally showed up. After being seated we sat for 15 minutes before we even got water, the waitress told us she had to get water for another table and then would be back for our drink order. The other table had come in a solid 5 minutes behind us but she immediately took and delivered their drink order. Finally she comes back. I asked for bourbon choices, if I’m eating a $60-85 steak I would expect a good bourbon selections, she didn’t know the bourbons but was sure they had blantons, she comes back and said they “just ran out”… she still didn’t know what their bourbons were so she went and wrote them down… Jim Beam, Jack Daniel’s, Bulleit, and Makers Mark were the choices…. $85 steaks and those are your choices…. However the cocktail menu that we had to ask twice for listed a Old Fashioned with Woodford, I ordered it thinking worst case she’d come back and offer bulleit or makers. My wife ordered a Gin Martini with Bombay Saphire. At that time we did manage to place an order for an appetizer. Another 5-10 minutes and we finally got our drinks. My wife took one drink and it was clearly well Gin, I took one drink and it was clearly Jim Beam. 35 minutes and we got two awful drinks…. First time in almost 42 years on this earth I’ve actually stood up and walked out of a restaurant. We did flag the waitress and politely asked to cancel the shrimp and I tried to give her a $50 but she felt bad and wouldn’t take it. I feel like she was maybe new and I don’t know that it was her fault but there was only her and 1 other waitress serving the entire restaurant and they would disappear from the dining area for 5+ minutes at a time. Very very poorly managed. Do not recommend at all.

I used to love this restaurant! Not anymore. Chose to go there with friends & family for my birthday in December & was excited. Although they had been closed for a remodel, it did not seem much different, other than being brighter than I remember.The service for food & drinks was extremely slow, and when they did bring the food it was not timed well and cold. I was so disappointed and asked to speak to the manager. She listened, but seemed not to care. I asked her to have her boss call me, but never heard a word. Won’t be going back…

We haven’t been here in 10 yrs. Its definitely not the same as we remembered. While the service was good, the steaks were average no flavor. Augratin potatoes were too soupy. Expected more for the price paid.

The Rockwell restaurant is beautiful and ambience is very nice with the live piano. Unfortunately, the food itself left something to be desired. Every single plate was covered in grease and oil, and the food was bland. With the bill being $300, we expected more.
