Just down the street from Mississippi State, Two Brothers is a multi-story barbecue delight in Starkville, MS. Started in 2014 in the heart of the Cotton District, Chef Barton Dinkins has been smoking chicken, brisket, and whatever he can get his hands on with the pecan-fueled outdoor smoker (built by Barton’s father), crafting the creative and juicy plates that everyone craves: pulled pork grilled cheeses, BBQ chicken tacos, and shrimp po-boys. It’s a must-visit spot for game days and Southern comfort. If you need help finding it, look out for the bright blue and purple mural covering the two-story outer wall, and just follow your nose to the smoker.

Have been hearing good things about Two Brothers so decided to drive down and try it today! Good food and friendly staff! I don’t know much about Starkville, but I assume this place is located in the “historic district” so we had to park and walk but it was not an inconvenient distance at all and we got to see some other shops along the way. Our table started with the mozzarella sticks (huge!) and crawfish egg rolls – both were sooo good! I asked a lot of questions about the menu just to get a feel and they were delighted to answer anything I asked … the potato salad is mayo based for anyone wondering. The fries are shoe string with a really good seasoning! The build your own basket is kind of like a “nacho” with fries or pork rinds as your base and your choice of toppings – my daughter had that and it looked pretty good although I didn’t try. I tried one of each of the tacos ( à la carte’) and they were all delicious but the spicy pork was the best one hands down. Their wings come in 6,8, or 12 count, which my son got the 12 and it was a good portion so we took some to go. Overall, I recommend checking this place out for yourself – go in and ask for Noey!

Our waiter was friendly. I have been here several times and have enjoyed my meals. I would not recommend the chicken bacon white BBQ tacos though. The chicken was dry and chewy and the sauce was sour. Everyone at my table enjoyed their meals and we had a great time. I recommend this restaurant but not the chicken bacon white BBQ tacos.

I’m sorry, but our dining experience tonight, the food absolutely sucked even though it looks nice. We got three different tacos, the patty melt, and the brisket sandwich with fries.

The patty melt was way too greasy and salty, and both the burger and bread have way too much butter. The caramelized onions and cheese are good though. It’s also not 100% cooked.

The brisket sandwich and tacos were bland as hell. I didn’t have the pickled red onions on the sandwich, but I asked for some, and I found out why. Those were old and very dark in color. So, they’re not even keeping up to par with freshly prepped ingredients.

Lastly, whoever made these fries put way too much salt in them. You can’t even taste the fries. Only salt.

Food was awesome, tons of flavor and generous portions. We got the pulled pork grilled cheese and the French dip, both amazing. The regular fries are better than the sweet potato fries, though. The issue with our experience was the service, our server just seemed apathetic and didn’t actually attend our table aside from ordering and giving us the check. No refill, no napkins, no utensils… Just poor service.

The food was BBQ was very good. Everyone had something different and raved about it. The Pork Belly taco was to die for with brown sugar mustard glaze, white BBQ sauce cold slaw and topped with crispy pork rinds and the chicken bacon white BBQ taco was excellent as well, and well-balanced. The Street Corn was perfectly seasoned and smoked to perfect. I would highly recommend stopping by.

I have eaten here numerous times and always loved it. Ordered for pick up last night- and it was awful. It was an hour and a half before closing, and all of the food tasted rubbery and microwaved. I’m so disappointed.

The pork rind nachos were pretty good that I had. I ordered the tacos as well. The chicken, bacon, and bbq was good, and I also liked the chipotle chicken, too. The southwest taco was also tasty.
