This was our first visit to ABEM, and we were warmly welcomed by the staff from the very beginning. The establishment was visually pleasing, and the atmosphere was truly delightful. The restaurant gave the impression of visiting the home of the owner, which made the experience very special. We placed our order, and our food arrived promptly. The aroma, taste, and presentation were all very impressive. The dishes were well seasoned and exceptionally delicious. We appreciated their encouragement to enjoy the meal in a traditional manner; notably, no silverware was provided, which we found charming. We finished everything on our plates and are eager to return and try more dishes from their diverse menu.

We felt like we were back in Ethiopia! The lamb was tender, hot off the stove, and was a perfect match with the vegetarian platter. On the platter was chickpeas, greens, beets, cabbage, all of it seasoned and full of flavor. My husband who is not really a spicy food eater said great heat level on the lamb!
The homemade tiramisu was delicious, nothing like the store brought tasting tiramisu we had at other restaurants.
The lentil and chicken samosas were large and tasty.

Staff was friendly and the customer service was excellent!
Very clean restraurant and bathroom. This is the place to try and/or eat Ethiopian food!

This place is a gem! The food is fresh and absolutely delicious. My favorite order is the lamb tibs. I’ve had it plain and loved it. I’ve also had it with Awaze and it was delicious. It all depends on your spice preference. The veggie platter is equally delicious. I usually end up ordering both and taking leftovers home.

I also love their sambusas. I’ve had all of them, and beef and lentil are my favorites. Try the Ethiopian spicy tea with your sambusas.

The owners are so sweet and kind and the vibe of the restaurant is also nice. It’s definitely worth the drive to get there, so just do it if you live far! This is one of the best restaurants in Nashville.

Don’t miss this gem! They make their injera with 100% Teff by hand. So delicious! All the spices were fresh and on point. A vegan and vegetarian nirvana of flavors. Absolutely delicious. Great care to make each dish to perfection. We will be back! Thank you.

The restaurant was clean, very welcoming. The food was very well presented. The portions was big enough. The owner himself served us, while his wife prepared our food. The food was authentic and delicious. I also mentioned it was my friend’s birthday and he gifted us a dessert on the house. A highly recommended place to anyone that likes ethiopian food.

This spot is amazing!! Best Ethiopian in Nashville. The food is perfectly spiced (even for someone like me with a low spice tolerance), the person who served us was very sweet and attentive. We also did the Ethiopian coffee ceremony with some stellar baklava, and it was very worth it. Will be coming back!

Absolutely delicious food. The owner was very kind in explaining the different dishes to us and suggesting something that would be good for our first time trying Ethiopian food. We got a veggie spread with the injera and a lamb dish and WOW it was so pretty and so many different flavors. So so good. The coffee was also very very good. Will be coming back the next time we travel through Nashville.

Delicious food, amazing coffee, and the nicest people! Abem Ethiopian Coffee & Kitchen is such a hidden gem — everything tastes fresh and authentic, the place is super clean, and the vibe is warm and welcoming. My friend mentioned it was my birthday, and they surprised me with a baklava on the house! Chef Genet even came out to introduce herself and check how everything was. Mezmur was amazing too — such genuine hospitality all around. I’ll definitely be coming back!

We had a great dinner at Abem!! The owners were very kind, and the food was delicious. We got the Abem Special Kifto and the Lamb Tims, plus some spiced tea and baklava. Lots of gluten-free and vegetarian options if that’s what you’re looking for, but we highly recommend for anyone!
