Do yourself a favor and check out Pioneer Meats today! We have stopped by twice in the past week and both times it has been a great experience. Both times the staff have been very courteous and personable. The first time we stopped in to try their meat pies and sandwiches (picture included). The peri peri chicken sandwich was great, the bread is supper soft and light, the chicken was tender and moist and the peri peri marinade was amazing – so flavorful and spicy. Of the 3 pies we tried, we liked the chicken and mushroom pie the best though the steak and kidney and the peppered steak pies were also quite tasty. They have a small dining area in the back making this a great place to stop by for lunch.
The second time we stopped by was to pick up some marinated items from the deli to grill at home. We picked up a chicken flattie (peri peri marinated whole spatchcock chicken) a boerewors sausage a marinated ribeye and a peppermint crisp pie (pictures included). All of them were very good! They also have a couple of small shopping areas where you can find neat kitchen utensils and lots of different type of foods, spices and candies. Overall it is a great new addition to Boerne and we look forward to this being one of our regular new places to eat!

Excellent sandwiches and lunch spot. The quality and taste of the meat was amazing and the team (including the owners) were helpful and friendly. The peri-peri was great if you like a touch of heat. I also recommend the Cowboy Biltong (a tender variation of beef jerky).

I am thrilled that I took a chance on trying out biltong from Pioneer Meats. Brett helped me out and I left with orders from three different kind of meats. They are so delicious! I will definitely be going back weekly to get more. The little store inside has so many gourmet options to pick up for gifts or to jazz up your charcuterie board. I highly recommend!

Highly recommend this place if you are interested in international food products. Bella was extremely helpful and sweet. We got to sample all the different meat products and was not pressure at all to buy. I forgot the name but we ended up getting the garlic meat stick which is phenomenal. Very flavorful and just soft enough but you still get that dried meat pull. Their international candy selection was great, along with their beverages. I can’t say enough good things about this place. Please support amazing people, amazing products, and our local businesses ❤️

Absolutely the best freshest lunch you can grab. I almost don’t even want to tell you how incredible the meat pies are because then you’ll go and eat all of them before I can. Literally the best biltong I’ve ever had. Glorious selection of fun pantry items you can’t get this side of the pond. Cheeses that are real cheese and not nasty American mold. Such a fun building and the owners are delightful. Go eat here, Boerne.

Holy cow this place is amazing with wonderful international treats. We had the family dinner meal Peri-Peri Chicken and it was amazing. We also bought jerky, international sweets, and marinated beef. This place is wonderful and I highly recommend everyone to go

Finally made it in today to snag some lunch to go. Ordered three sandwiches for the kiddos and one for my self. Owner was nice enough to point out that the kid might not like the strong cheese and recommend a better option for the one sandwich. And on the sandwich with only meat I heard him tell the kitchen to add extra meat since it was meat only…cheers to that.
My chicken Sando with peri peri was awesome. Great spice level and the bread was great.
While waiting for food, spent some time exploring their market and deli. Great selection of goodies for your next get together. Nice to have a option on this side of the “river”.
