My mini me and I are always out adventuring and love little hidden gems, small towns, and hole-in-the-wall stops—this one checked all our boxes!
Luckily it isn’t too far from home because we are already plotting trips back to try some lunches. Today, we stopped in for a relatively late breakfast, but were warmly greeted and they were so accommodating. My daughter was tickled to spy her favorite (and local!) Morell’s dairy chocolate milk in the cooler, and made it about a quarter of the way through her breakfast platter before announcing, “I would come here for breakfast every day!”
I, personally, also loved the “essentials” available for purchase that might save a trip into town and/or little treats to curb a craving—like the airhead my child thought she needed with her breakfast . These are precious people who clearly know their community and their regulars, which I adore. We’ll be back soon!

P.S. Almost forgot to say, I don’t know what the other review was talking about on expensive, I thought the breakfast platter was more than fair—quality food at a very affordable price!

This little hidden gem offers a warm and inviting atmosphere and food that’s as comforting as a warm hug!

My girls loved the board games on the tables – they got to play a game of checkers while they waited for their food.

The menu, though simple, is PACKED with flavor. We got the cheeseburger and the fish dinner. Both were outstanding!
And the coleslaw, my oh my – it’s the best darn coleslaw I’ve had in a while.

I’m glad we decided to stop by. We will definitely be coming back!

I enjoy going here. It is locally owned by very nice people who live in our community. My husband enjoys the burgers because they are from fresh organic beef that is also locally sourced. Me. I like the burgers, along with the steak finger/chicken finger baskets.

I was introduced to this fabulous place by a friend, Sandie, so I brought a group of friends and we had their fish dinner. The food was great and the owners are so friendly and accommodating. If you want a good meal and a little drive to a pretty community, it’s worth the trip!

we promised to leave a review so here it is. We decided at the last minute to go get the pulled pork sandwiches and made it 10 minutes before closing time. Luckily they still had some left. This was our first time at D&I’s. They are so friendly, was totally refreshing. We didn’t feel rushed or like we were imposing even though it was close to closing time. And the food was amazing! the pulled pork was perfect, it wasn’t too wet or dry, and had a great flavor. This was the first bought potato salad I actually enjoyed ( lol though some egg or more egg in it would be good lol hubby says I like too much egg in mine, so that is me) We definitely will be going back! I highly recommend it! Home cooked, home attitude, home good!

Very rustic. Food and service were both excellent. Tried 2 different burgers, chicken fried chicken special, and crispy chicken salad. Highly recommend them all!

The D&I is back! The store has recently undergone new management and it has a lot of new life. They serve lunch, and let me tell ya, it’s delicious (and affordable). They also have a myriad of snacks and drinks, so if you’re just a little hungry or thirsty, you should definitely give this place a shot.

Though the D& I is still under renovation, it carries that southern charm that you can only get from a small town store.
