The cartoon latte was pretty yummy too!
It wasn’t too busy on a Sunday morning. We sat down, the waiter took our order. We got 2 coffees and basically had to get all of the stuff (cream, sugar, etc) ourselves or ask about it. We had to fetch our own waters too. Odd for a diner and such a small place. I assuming it was a new waiter. Not a huge deal.
The food took quite a bit to come out (they have 1-2 cooks working hard), again, not a big problem, but when we got it, it was room temp, wasn’t warm or hot. One of the eggs was also overcooked, wasn’t runny. We were starving so we just ate it. We got 2 coffees, 2 eggs, 1 biscuit, 1 pancake (which was very small), a side, and 2 small sausages, total was $33. Steep for small portions. The menu needs to improve, there’s like 10 biscuit sandwiches on the menu, and 5-7 of them are basically the same. And only like 4 breakfast plates. The biscuits are great, but are small and have a honey top which makes it a bit sugary. You can easily pay $15 for a biscuit with 1 egg, 1 piece of cheese, 1 meat of some sort. And 1 pancake, which are the smallest pancake I’ve seen, are $5 each.
The one standout we absolutely loved was the hashbrown casserole, which besides the coffee, was the only thing that was hot. It was the least trendy thing on the menu, and it was the best.
A solid 3 stars, would have been 2 if it wasnt for the casserole.
Highly recommend the chipotle adobo sauce. It’s a generational family recipe of one of the owners.
The biscuits and coffee are out of this world!
The owner checked on us and the customer service was kind. Ample parking on the east side of the building.
