Hands down the best Greek food in Sarasota. High quality ingredients, everything feels like a homemade meal prepared fresh. Have been back multiple times! Must try: Lentil soup, Greek Salad & Lemon Chicken Dinner. Photoed here is a vegetarian string bean dish as well. Reservations encouraged for dinner, however they are open for lunch!

The premiere Greek restaurant in the Sarasota area. Stella’s serves up classic Greek cuisine done in their own authentic flavors. We came for my birthday and stayed for the baklava and great conversation with owner Petros.
I ordered the lamb shank and it was juicy, fall-off-the-bone in tomato sauce. My mother ordered the Greek chicken and potatoes which were just like Yia-Yia’s. There was a nice crisp on the chicken. My father ordered the salmon dinner which was fresh and delicious.

OK Google! My first restaurant review ‘here’. Because…. I’ve raved and recommended word-of-mouth and on some foodie sites… Just curious… And the reviews I’m seeing here are spot-on, giving me little to add.
Thin-sliced: The appetizers, soups, salads and entrées I’ve seen or had: all amazing. As others say, “home-made” (and if you hear the story, truly a labor of love and a lot of history).
Craving a decent moussaka, I found this little gem 2-3 years ago and return as often as I can, still loving the “Moussakas Politikos” (another story to ask about), both the signature soups (lentil & lemon), and various spreads, sides, and desserts. All wonderful.
Long “retired” from ongoing restaurant reviews, I’m still an avid eater, and between the northeast and southeast, have a short list of favorites in New York and Sarasota mostly, the places where this restaurant owner has had restaurants over many years and adventures.
Stella’s is unpretentious but charming, lights twinkling everywhere, art from Greece, fantastic music, devoted owner & chef.
I recommend it to friends, so why not ‘here’? It’s a small place, so don’t all go at once! Do call, and reserve even, as it can fill up.

10/10 highly recommended! The place is very cute and cozy. It feels like I’m in someone’s beautiful home in Greece. And the food is so delicious and healthy! The portions are perfectly sized. I feel like this is what my Greek grandma would make me if I had one! I’ll be coming back and bringing my whole family!

Four of us paid our first visit (and definitely not the last!) to Stella’s earlier this month. We loved the atmosphere, music, terrific food, and wonderful service. The menu is incredible, prices are very good value for what we received, and all dishes were exemplary. We were only sorry that we had no room for any of the appealing desserts. We will definitely return soon! Tip: this is a small restaurant so be sure to make a reservation by following the link on Stella’s website. Yelp handles the reservations and texts reminders.

Very small restaurant – reservations recommended in the evening at least. Our group had entrees of salmon, chicken & gyro. Each entree started with soup – lemon chicken or lentils. Lemon chicken was soothing on this chilly evening. I had the gyro platter. The meat was tasty but overdone. The servers were attentive. I would try it again but not the gyro.

We dropped in based upon Sarasota Foodies recommendation and spent two and a half delightful hours enjoying delicious lentil soup, the best spanakopita, macaronada pasta and galactose boureko dessert were all to die for…An added bonus was the endearing stories told enthusiastically by Pietro, owner, about food origins, meeting his beautiful Stella in Greece, then falling in love, and chatting with other guests. Such a warm homey atmosphere that relaxes one and all. We shall return soon for dinner: Politico Moussaka, Mydia mussels, wine and conversation.
