Got an envie for some Cajun or Creole specialties? Or maybe your’e looking for some good old comfort food? Jarreau’s Cajun Specialties is a Zachary treasure and the place to go to find many delicious options in a cozy, casual, cute and relaxed atmosphere. Mr. Glen and his staff are always welcoming and ready to serve up scrumptious plates. Our last visit included the best shrimp po-boys and boudin burgers around. And don’t forget to check the specials too, cuz there is always something interesting to try. A great place to take family and friends and chow down on great South Louisiana food. Go ahead… get you some!

This was my first time trying anything here. I drove 30 minutes for a well done Jarreau burger and a combo with bbq on the side (with 2 other orders). I get back to work to eat it and I can still hear the cow when I took the first bite, I cut it open and the meat is pink/red. I called and immediately got placed on hold when they answered, I was on hold for 10 minutes before I hung up and called back. Taking it back, somebody is gonna address this.

Great customer service and flavorful food. I give 4/5 because the cost is understandable for small town living but is overpriced compared to competitors in neighboring areas. I have been twice and the food is good! Must try in Zachary.

The service was polite and the food was good and the portions were more than I expected for the price.
I picked up the jumbo fried chicken sandwich and fries to go and when I got home there was no room on my plate for the fries. Jumbo is the right word for this sandwich.

I’ve been twice. I was really craving the smoked boudin i had a couple of weeks ago so I went back today when I was in Zachary, but it didn’t have the amazing smoked flavor it did before. It had a few grill marks but not the color or flavor. Tastes likes the regular boudin, and had I not seen the grill marks I’d think they had given me the wrong product. I’m disappointed that it isn’t a consistent product because I was excited to stock up. Not a *bad* product, but not as good as what I had a few weeks ago (it was so good!), these don’t taste smoked at all. I tried to call them several times but my call wouldn’t go through so I hope this post reaches them. They have a nice thing going, I hope the quality doesn’t continue to slip and that they can provide consistently good food and service that doesn’t diminish over time. I had recommended it to a few folks in Alex before today (who will travel for food!) and hope I haven’t steered them wrong.

There was seven of us in our group. Of the seven, three ordered hamburgers. All were too pink on the inside. One in our party didn’t receive his complete order. Me? I didn’t even get my food at all!
After the owner got involved, I finally DID get my shrimp poor boy ,,, AFTER closing. By the time I got to a place to eat it, it was cold and not very tasty at all.
I’m sure my first visit to this establishment had a fluke experience. Since I don’t live anywhere near the area, I’m sure I’ll never know.
There are other choices in the area for seafood cuisine. I’d advise to try them … No one should have to experience what I did. You probably wouldn’t ,,, but you might.

This place is great! Food is hot , fresh, and Good! Zachary needed a place like this so bad. It taste like the food you get in Lafayette and Lake Charles. Priced right and pick up window! Great ice tea with lemon! Get there and get ya some!
