Let me start by saying the person working was very kind, helpful, and considerate on the phone.
Having said that, the food was pretty decent, but the portions were very small and overpriced. We also received chopped brisket when we had asked for sliced brisket. The person working was not wearing a mask, and though he claimed to be fully vaccinated, it was still disconcerting.
The price of our dinner ended up being ~$50 for three ribs, a “half pound” of chopped brisket (ordered sliced, almost definitely wasn’t a half lb.), a chopped brisket sandwich(that was also supposed to be sliced brisket), 3 very small sides, and fried pickles (also a super tiny amount). Overall I would say it was not a great experience, though they are kind and helpful. Photos included to show the small portion size.

So let me tell you this story…An acquaintance and I were craving Jamaican food and we were told we would find on the strip. We got to the strip, we googled and found this place, they had good ratings and we tried calling several times but there was no answer and we thought let’s just go perhaps they are one of those businesses that don’t answer their calls. Poor me I had heels on but off we went. We got here and there it was Uncle Budsy’s BBQ instead and there’s another restaurant in the same space but they weren’t open. We decided since we came this far and We were really hungry lets just eat plus he is a blackman so let’s do this for the culture hummm we wish we didn’t.
First, we ordered for I think 3Meats BBQ and three sides. Payment was hard because Uncle did not know how to run the payment machine. He had some friends there about 4 white men and they were working on their laptops. While he was preparing our order something told my acquaintance to look up because we were both on our phones. Lo and Behold, Uncle was reducing our portions of meat and he was fixated on him at this point. When Uncle caught glances with him, nobody asked, but he said ‘Oh he was cutting out portions for us so we could taste it’ hummmm
Food came, meats were so cold, the collard greens were old and stale, only the baked beans tasted good but cold too, and that I know wasn’t made there, how disappointing. We ate because we were so hungry, but not so hungry to eat the potato salad, that thing was the worst.
So we started playing detectives and watched if he was going to cut out pieces for other customers to taste. He was doing the same thing but never told the customers he was cutting it for tasting because they weren’t paying attention. Remember his White friends mentioned earlier? He served them all free foods and they were very happy and at that point it was dawn on us that he probably takes from customers foods to give free foods to his friends.
This happened December 2021 and today is May 1st 2022…It took me this long to make this review because I am not one to ruin someone’s business BUT it has not been sitting well with my conscience and when people are not criticized for their bad behavior in any sphere of life then we will not see any improvement or change. I had the pulled pork sandwich with coleslaw and fries which my 3 year old daughter shared with me. My husband had the brisket and tots. The man who cooked our food was kind and passionate and knowledgeable. The food was stellar! The pulled pork was delicious, moist and perfect on it’s own, but then the BBQ sauce was amazing! The coleslaw was perfectly dressed.
My daughter loved the sandwich and fries, too. My husband said it was one of the best briskets he’d had, and we are a family who really loves BBQ!

Edited a few weeks later: These things happen from time to time, and they didn’t deserve a low rating for maintenance things outside their control.
Since the last review, we went there to try it, and it was FANTASTIC. I had the Brisket and my wife and daughter had the Pulled pork sandwich, both were excellent and the rub on the brisket was great! It was an especially blustery day when we went and the guy in the cart went out of his way to deliver the food to our car. He also put potentially spicy seasonings on the side since our daughter might not like it, without us even asking.

Had a two meat plate with the ribs and brisket and both were fantastic. Both had beautiful smoke rings and ribs we tender and fell apart from the bone. Pricey but its the same pricing you would get from any BBQ place folks. Just realize the good stuff takes hours to smoke.

He tried to over charge us 11 dollars when we did finally get our food it was 100% cold. You can tell it’s been sitting for hours. The chicken was dry . The ribs were good but they were cold. We weren’t given a fork for our sides. The meat had a good smokey taste but it was dry and cold. We were told the sides came with the meals then tried to charge us for them. Would not recommend coming here. Food was very cold and not good customer service

The food does not come out hot, it’s barely warm. Service takes long here and they serve customers from the courthouse across the street which are
on their lunch hour! Next, TWICE they lost this attorney’s order and he waited over 25 minutes for his lunch and he had to hurry and eat because he has to be in trial. Not a good way to start a new business. This place will not continue to be in business if they do not change to improve business procedures. I don’t believe i will order from this place again. Sad to say.

I got the brisket, pork and sausage. It was AMAZING. I snacked on the brisket on the way home without the sauce and it was incredible. Once I got home and dipped it in the sauce…oh man. It was heavenly. I’ve got picky kids, but I had to fight them for scraps. Super friendly customer service and great food.

Ordered through GrubHub. Totally got wrong order so could not eat it. Called owner of restaurant, he stated if I ordered just a soda on app he would add my original order to it, even offered another side if I wanted. Grubhub refunding original order so everything worked out great. Now hoping food as good as it looks. Food was as a little cold but thank heavens for microwaves. Did not get $6 Coke though..

I haven’t even eaten here yet, i i have never seen, heard of, or even knew i i want bbq from anywhere other than….another bbq place i wont say the name of on here that i love. What i do know though is it is the way Uncle Budsy has dealt with the negative reviews. I love the sincere desire to please every customer uniquely and according to the individual need of every member within a group. That is bbq from the heart! I am SOOOO excited to get some of ur brisket right now….im glad I decided to not settle for KFC, and browsed other things near me. ihave very limited patience for mean people, poor customer, and screwing up my food. I’m an executive chef and I’m 7 months pregnant.I’ve cooked for several celebrities, and won many awards. I’m not easily impressed by customer service ,or food in any establishment
