Spent $56 on a cake, just to have it melt seconds after leaving coldstone.

It was my wife’s 25th birthday today, and I had never tried coldstone custom cakes. We signed up for an 7:00 pickup time and got there at 7:30 (so maybe that’s why?). We were grocery shopping for her birthday meal. When we got there, we were told it started melting so they were blast freezing it. After waiting 15 minutes in restaurant, we saw the cake and it looked perfect. We accepted it, and left the store.

As we were driving away from the parking lot, it started melting. At this point, it’s already 7:50pm/8pm. When we got it home, it was even worse. To be honest, for the price point this is not worth it. I grew up with Dairy Queen cakes and never had one melt on the way home. My birthday is next week and I’m timid to put in another order.

At the same time, I’m a baker and could have made my wife her own cake, better quality for even less than coldstone. In an economy where we really have to pick and choose who gets our business, I think coldstone is losing out cake wise. The other option before accepting your custom cake, let it sit on the counter for a couple minutes or in the car before leaving #CakeCheck. It just sucks to have a birthday cake of this quality at this price point.

Edit: immediately when I got home, I decided to freeze it. But it was too far gone to even help. The quality doesn’t match the price tag either, the cake was super dry. If I have any personal advice, the bigger pricetag doesn’t mean it’s better. Even under the popular brand name of “Coldstone”. Maybe at another location it’s better. However, save your money and look at Baskin Robins, Dairy Queen or Costco.

Also, had a call earlier from the store, the letter was initially supposed to be written in White lettering. However, I was told that the frosting was “chunky” and unusable, so they asked for another color to which I said purple. If there’s chunky icing, I have a feeling there’s quality problems overall. That should have been my first red flag, but wanted to give it the benefit of the doubt. Looking forward to my call with corporate tomorrow.

The portions are smaller than what the customer is paying for. I picked up an online order for a Love It. My cup was barely half-full. Give the customer what they paid for.

I was slightly disappointed the last time we were here this week. I got the One Smart Brookie and my brownie was all in one massive chunk, it wasn’t broken apart and mixed, it was just a huge chunk in the center of my ice cream and I had to break it up myself which was a bit difficult with a plastic spoon. However we have been here several times and have enjoyed our other visits. There is usually a decent wait for drive thru and indoor but it’s not too bad.

So this was my first time visiting a Cold Stone ever. I was skeptical because the reviews weren’t the best… but If I could give it 10 stars I would. 3 young men were working, full of smiles and held conversations with the customers. They had a decent line, but still got everyone served promptly! The ice cream was fantastic! I will definitely return before my trip back to Florida.

Had to wait 50+ minutes in the drive-thru for my order when there were only two other cars that were in front of me. Staff didn’t apologize for the long wait once we got to the window, then I open up my bag and find the lid not even on my cup and ice cream spilling out.

Hire more employees! 2 people to work the entire store is not enough. I waited in line inside for over 20 minutes with just three other people in front of me. I eventually walked out when after standing in line for 20 minutes instead of handling the next customer they stopped to handle three DoorDash orders.. 2 people can’t wait on the drive through, inside customers and door dash.

Their ice cream is awesome and we love it everytime. But the customer service is a 0/5. We order online and it always gets ignored so we have to wait for them to make it anywyas. Then I mention it’s a nut allergy and get tons of attitude from the staff.

We loved coming here but now it’s just not worth the hassle or the wait

Super great ice cream and options, but my gosh I absolutely cannot stand when I open the lid to my icecream and it just spills out all over the sides of the cup making a huge mess. Every time without fail it’s a huge mess opening the lid. It’s great they fill it up with ice cream but really irritating when it gets all over the place

This location lately has had terrible customer service. I understand being busy. BUT. It’s simple. If you are doing online orders, simply say hi welcome in we will be with you in a moment. But no. Instead we get completely ignored. When you ring out, ask if people would like lids and bags. We have to ask EVERY SINGLE TIME. And at the end a simple thanks and have a great night. But we got none of that. Tonight Kya served us. Again. I get being busy and over customers but kill people with kindness at least. The only reason we go to this location is because it’s the only one nearby.

We’ve been to this location quite a few times and every time it’s a horrible experience. The service is awful and unfriendly. The first time we went it took them almost 45 minutes for us to get our ice cream since I have a nut allergy. After that we started ordering it online so we wouldn’t have to wait so long, but by the time we get there they haven’t even started on it because they don’t check their systems for online orders. So we still have to wait an unreasonable amount of time. Definitely not coming back to this location again.
