Referred here by Matthew from the atlas missile silo VRBO place.

Really cool atmosphere. Staff was awesome and fast.

Unfortunately no longer brewing. Seems customers were upset between that and a lot of menu items were not available.

But.

Being from Chicago I’ve eaten at just about every steakhouse. With that said fly boys 16 ounce ribeye is the best steak I’ve ever had.

What a treat. I went for a friend’s birthday and we all love the place. We loved the atmosphere, the servers were all friendly and the people eating all left satisfied. We all had something totally different, and serving sizes were huge. The owner gets involved, and it shows that everyone working here wants to ensure everyone leaves happy.
FOOD – Delicious, huge, and eye appealing.
BAR – seating for at least 12 people, they mix the drinks right in front of you and football playing behind the bar.
EATING AREA – Lots of tables, set up with tables for 4 easily able to put together for larger groups.
SERVICE – Friendly, concerned on satisfied customers that they treat like friends. Fast to respond to any questions.
Wheelchair friendly, huge selection of beers, lots of mixed drink selections, and suggestions.
They get their ingredients from locals, promoting each local.

Steak was fine, Salmon was fantastic. Everything else was ‘eh’. Wait time and flavor for the food to come out earned them 3 stars instead of 5. They were busy though. Lots of people standing waiting in line to be seated.
I think a lot of people come from out of town to go here.
Waiter was fine. Had to ask for our drinks to be refilled and was only checked on once. We wanted to get the bill and leave, but it took awhile to flag him down. Probably a big reason why the wait was so long.
I did like their salad, just basic, like any other restaurant. Baked potatoe was not cooked well and not flavored. Just a lot of bacon is all.
I would go back for the salmon.
Plan to spend $60 total for 2 people.

3/5 accessibility ♿️ bad parking situation, and steps going in. Some tables are wheelchair friendly.

4/5 Baby friendly. Highchair available, and tables are large enough to move food away from grabby hands.

What a great place for dinner! We didn’t try any of the craft beers. We just had dinner, and it was amazing. Our server took great care of us. Our steaks, Angus ribeyes, were perfectly seasoned and cooked. The loaded baked was very good! The salad looked good, and it was. For dessert, we split a nice size serving of bread pudding.

It’s definitely a great place to visit for dinner!

Great hanger steak that was tender, perfectly salted and cooked. The steak fries are like if a particular large fast food chain had fries for grown ups from locally sourced potatoes. Definitely get a flight of the beers too. I wish this was a closer drive than three hours. Still worth the drive.

If you are in the area, or even not in the area, find your way here. They don’t take reservations but it’s worth the wait. We had the bibimbap special and chicken fried chicken. Everything was cooked to perfection. Including the skillet snickerdoodle cookie. If I’d have known that was going to be so good, I’d have not agreed to split it.

Highly recommend!

This was our 2nd visit here, we loved it the first time and we did this time as well. We had the chicken fried chicken and the chicken fried steak along with beer cheese and tortilla chips for an appetizer. Both meals were super good and hot. The beer cheese and fried tortillas were really good and the beers were very good as well. Our server seemed to be overwhelmed but it wasn’t that busy so not sure what was going on but our service was a bit spotty but not horrible.

What an absolutely amazing meal. The steaks were cooked perfect. The beers were interesting and flavorful. Even the apps and desserts were good. We drove from Hays, and it was worth the trip.

Enjoyed our visit to this small town brewery!

Don’t let the small town fool you. This place offers a number of beers to please most palates and seasonal ones that might be a little off the beaten path.

The food was delicious and the service top notch! Check their Facebook page for specials.

If you are a fan of planes, trains or automobiles, the proprietor Clay, is the guy to chat with!

Unexpected Delight in a Small Town!

My sister and I were driving through Kansas on a genealogy trip and stopped in Sylvan Grove (population about 300) for dinner. We didn’t expect much from such a small town, but Fly Boy Brewery & Eats completely blew us away!

The food was absolutely delicious with a lot of great options to choose from. Their cocktails were expertly crafted, and the wine list was surprisingly impressive. Isaac, our server, was fantastic — super patient, friendly, and attentive, even with all our questions and requests.

We were also lucky enough to meet the owner, Grant, who was incredibly warm and welcoming. It’s clear he cares deeply about the experience his guests have.

This place is a true hidden gem — worth going out of your way for if you’re anywhere nearby. Highly recommend!
