Great tasty food! Ate grilled white fish and sushi mixed red snapper and eel and all wete delicious. The miso soup and the salad were fantastic too. Will come again. Also the restaurant is spacious and very nice.

Thursday found us in the mood for Asian food. We decided on Umai, a restaurant in St Augustine South.
The restaurant sits in a complex with other businesses, so parking was no problem on the free lot in front. Inside, it’s a bit dark but modern-looking. We chose a booth on the side, and within a few minutes our waiter was taking our drink orders.
I decided to try the House Fried Rice. Vicki chose the Crab Rangoons and the Pineapple Fried Rice. Both dishes came out quickly and were hot. My dish had shrimp, steak, and chicken in it. Vicki loved her Rangoons and rice. Our server was attentive and the meal was delicious.
Umai was a good choice that didn’t break our bank.

They offer a nice variety of Japanese cuisine from sushi to hibachi and tempura. In my opinion its the best sushi in our small town. Service is always prompt and friendly. Its a nice casual environment but also just fancy enough for a date night. If you are looking a great place to go with the family, a date or even a business get together. They are always accommodating and this is an option you should concider.

Ordered hibachi for takeout the other day from here for the first time. I added tip before my husband went to pick up the food then he I guess added more tip which amounted to a little more than 30% tip and I would’ve been fine with it had the food been amazing but all of it had a funny taste and I guess they use silken tofu so that was a new one for me. I ended up only having 2 bites because it just tasted so funky so my husband had the rest of mine, thankfully for him his taste buds dont detect when food has clearly gone bad and he has no sense of smell so he ate it just fine. Won’t be coming back unfortunately. Really wanted to like it.

What a fantastic place! Lovely inside and they offer take out. Generous servings and the food is delicious!! I ordered lunch through door dash and it’s enough food for three days! I have literally eaten here at least 50 times and never have been disappointed. Our waiter was so friendly and had us laughing the entire time. Even the take out portions are more than generous and so delicious.
