Another “not my first time here, but first Google Review” for this place! A must-do in the Chicagoland/Edison Park area. Bars nearby so you know this place is a go-to at 1 or 2AM. Go for the Snappy Stix (pictured here – mozz sticks reincarnated in egg roll wrap), the shakes, and of course either a Snappy Dog (has secret (hot) sauce) and a Chicago Dog.

Went in for a hotdog and some cheese fries. It was mid. The fries- if you like salt with your fries, this is the place for you. The abundance of salt was insane- not my taste preference but again. If you like salt- these are for you. You’re getting a good amount for the price you are paying. Wish the guy was a bit more friendlier but I get it- it’s a tiny business and it’s a congested area filled with hipster restaurants. The only reason I didn’t give it a 3 was because everything looked neat.

The cashier is a mean old man who is just rude. I simply asked if he had Apple Pay and he genuinely started tweaking. Never thought I’d see this at a hot dog place. Go down to Superdawg or real hot dog stands deeper in the city. I can say that Snappy Dog doesn’t know how to treat newcomers. West side joins are much better than this atrocity

Not only were the dogs awesome, but the owner was as cool as it gets. He was friendly, proud of his shop, and worked hard. Our group of four loved every bite and the next time we’re in Chicago we will “make it snappy!”.

Best kind of spot to get a real Chicago dog. Hole in the wall, Scott was super nice, and the snappy sticks were AMAZING (homemade mozzarella sticks in wonton wraps)

The hot dog was pretty much the standard Chicago style dog you will find elsewhere. There was nothing off or wrong with it. The fries were also pretty good. Sadly there is absolutely no seating inside. If you want to eat there you have to do it standing. food was served within 5 mins. Overall it’s a decently good place for a quick bite

This is a small space in an older building with no tables. One guy was there by himself serving up orders as quick and efficient as some places with an entire staff.
I ordered the Snappy Dog. Fries were piled on top. Ugh, I hate that. I realize it’s an old Chicago tradition but it’s not my thing. I have to admit it does give the fries some extra flavor in this case.
It was on a fresh poppy seed bun with sport peppers, cheese sauce, onions, and their secret sauce (which tasted a lot like barbecue sauce). It was tasty with a bit of zip but very messy.
I wouldn’t mind trying some of their other unique menu items sometime.

If you’re in Chicago you have to check out Scotty at Snappys. The dogs are amazing and the snappy sticks get outta town…. Amazing I ate all three before my son could even see them ha. Best hot dog joint I have ever eaten at. You will not be disappointed and Scotty’s customer service is top notch
