With my wife and I, we approach public drinking with the philosophy that one high quality drink or beverage regularly, combined with a friend or friends has more value than a blowout night once a week with a great crowd. At the rooftop, you can get both, with the latter crowd more likely found and enjoyed on a Saturday night, however it is possible for a quality spontaneous crowd to be found unexpectedly on any night. However, their specialty alcoholic beverages are the main reason most visitors to Hartsville will want to visit “The Rooftop!” I have a couple of favorite bartenders, but I have to give a special shout out to Justin. As a friend and a bartender, he has learned exactly what my wife and I like and manages to make something special to our taste whenever we ask for one. I can’t promise how long it will take for him to get to know you like that (an hour or so ?), but I can promise that it will be worth the time it takes! Because of the unique environment, atmosphere and quality beverages, it’s the people that earn the rooftop the latter part of it’s title: “The Mantissa!”

If you’re in the area you owe it to yourself to stop by here. You don’t have to be staying at the hotel to access the rooftop bar. Great relaxing vibes and some of the best cocktails I’ve had ever, and certainly the best I’ve had in Hartsville.
