I read the menu really exited that they had a lot of authentic sounding flavors.
I ordered Chicken Tinga tacos and it was the worst taco I had. The tortillas taste like mission tortillas with preservatives and I can’t pin point what it was but I only ate it cause I was starving.
I got a rice and beans on the side. Beans have a weird taste also . They’re watery which is far from Mexican.
The rice has GREEN PEAS IN IT and did not taste fried like Mexican rice usually does. Rice and beans are a staple in a lot of Latin American dishes. The two are supposed to complement each other, not contrast – Very strange flavors.
Skip it if you like Mexican food.

Great street tacos and mixed drinks. Nice patio. For outside tables, orders are placed at a window and they bring the food out. Good (and strong ) mango chili margarita.

I am from the Southwest, where Mexican food is amazing & thought this place was great! Pollo Pibil taco was wonderful! The chicken Tinga & the guacamole wonderful, as well. Decent prices too which was a nice relief because everything in New Orleans is so dang expensive! Lovely atmosphere & my husband talked to the owner a lot who was super nice, and took orders and ran the food!

Really nice courtyard, it was all shaded in the evening so it was nice on a summer night. Food was very good, and margaritas were strong. I ordered at the window and they brought it out to me. Ill definitely be back, just a short walk from the convention center.

What an excellent dinner we just had. The tacos were epic we had to order more.
The restaurant itself is so well decorated and the staff are awesome, everything is made in house and tastes awesome.

Really enjoyed this spot. If you are at the Convention Centre make the short walk over. Or if you are sick of the French Quarter head here. The inside is very small but the outside is large and well done. The tacos are just great and the quack is some of the best I have ever had. The margaritas are very good too. Just a nice spot to go.

One of the best tacos I’ve ever had. My daughter said she will be thinking about them for a long, long time, and she wishes we had that taqueria in our backyard. Good music, cute patio.

Authentic and Delicious Mexican Cuisine
Tucked away in the warehouse district near the convention center, this charming restaurant offers an inviting atmosphere with the added bonus of a lovely garden patio. We started with queso and salsa with fresh, crisp chips—an idea kickoff with house margaritas rimmed with tajin. Every taco we tried was outstanding: real Gulf shrimp taco, grilled fish taco, cochinita pibil, and poblano pepper taco and chicken quesadilla all delivered on flavor and freshness. The portions were geneous – enough for three people, with leftovers to enjoy later. A true hidden gem for anyone craving authentic Mexican fare.

WOW! Taqueria La Lucha has it goin on here! All orders are taken at a walk up window on the outside and they bring your order to you when it is ready. The chips are light and crispy, matched with the salsa and queso, you have yourself a winner. The tacos are small, but mighty in flavor. I had the bistec taco, that was bursting with fresh flavors. Finish it off with a House Margarita to complete the meal. The 3 ladies that were working here when we came were friendly and welcoming. It was evident they care about their customers and were working hard to ensure everyone was happy. They checked several times to ensure our food and beverages were good. There is a lot of patio seating outside where there are heaters for cold days and huge fans for hot days. They have a small area for indoor seating at high top tables or the bar.
