It was nice to see a new sweetgreen location in Madison Wisconsin. We had the Harvest Bowl, Hot Honey Chicken Protein Bowl and the Ripple Chips. It was good but not outstanding. We were in Austin TX last month and honestly it was better there. Portion size was great, just not as tasty. The sweet potatoes and the Ripple Chips were both fails unfortunately. The kale, wild rice, and grains were the highlights.

Ordered online. Arrived to my order not started, but they offered to start it after checking in with me. None of the open tables were clean, which my gf definitely emphasized. My Build Your Own salad was pretty good, but portion sizes were smaller than what I expected from having frequented the Back Bay location when I lived in Boston. My gf was excited to try the air fried chips, but half of them were overdone and tasted like burned carbon, and the other half were over salted. The picle ketchup was also overly sweet and tasted more like a jam than what one would expect from ketchup. It could probably benefit from less sweetener and more acidity. In all, I was very underwhelmed and a bit disappointed, given that I’ve told people how good it was in Boston.
I think the airfry chips can probably be a thing but staff has to be careful what they put out bc the overdone crisps are basically inedible. May be worth having all staff try different levels of doneness so they have an understanding of what is good enough quality to serve.
I know this is early in the store’s lifespan, so I’ll probably try again in a bit and revisit the rating.

The meal was whelming in general. Some items legitimately tasty, other just done… Wrong.
The thing that is making me review are the chip. Claimed to be fresh cut, they appeared to be chips from the previous day. Soggy, cold, nasty.
The garlic aioli was good, but no matter how many I tried, they were all consistently ick until I couldnt eat anymore.

I usually LOVE eating at Sweetgreen, but today was very disappointing. I ordered a simple bowl with rice, chicken, sweet potatoes, and apples, and it was barely half full. For $16, I expected a more generous portion. If someone orders just a few ingredients, the portions should be adjusted so the bowl still feels complete—not the same amount you’d get with every topping added.

This is a good place to go if you’re trying to stay healthy and get some fiber in your diet. Probably the healthiest place you can go to eat out on the west side without sitting down. That’s why I come here.
The staff are polite, neat, and quick to create your salad or bowl. I can’t say they are very personable, but most places with such a design are not able to be personable. They are the center of the business, and there’s no place for them to go and recharge, away from the customers, other than the kitchen. In my humble opinion, they deserve a place to socialize and regain some energy, away from the customer’s glaring demanding faces.
It’s also on the corner and the walls are all windowed. I would imagine this has both benefits, and drawbacks to the employees.
Anyways, I enjoy this place, although the interior design is basically just minimalist, not personable, and rather drab in a hilldale, upscale sort of way. I would prefer more protein in the bowls and salads, but it’s not incredibly expensive, and it takes very little time to order and get the food. Basically healthy fast food.

I ordered the Harvest Bowl and it was delicious! My dish was in a takeout box, maybe guessing that my toddler and I were taking it home. So, part of the bread that was placed on top, got soggy. I don’t have a solution, besides wrap the bread in parchment paper, though since they’re doing a great job at making an effort to compost and be less wasteful. I would eat here again.

This is a great place to get healthier lunch options. You can build your own or pick from one of their recipes. Basically you come in and order a really big salad with vegetables, meats, or plant-based protein. Everything looks amazing and the service is excellent. Great place to bring family and friends.
They only downside is that there’s no options for caffeinated beverages at all.

I’m really glad the Hilldale location opened. The staff here is amazing and welcoming and the orders are always on time. One of the best sweetgreen locations I’ve been to! They go above and beyond here and it shows.

Ordered steak mazze. Was only served half a bowl. I asked if that was all and they answered yes. Nothing like picture. Complained online and no joy. Would not eat there again. Forage kitchen is better.

Food was surprisingly good and portions are big. Best part was service though, Mel was awesome and took care of an error in the order before we even noticed. Definitely better than Forage down the street.
