This restaurant is a true gem! The food is incredibly good, fresh, and flavorful. They make their tortillas in-house, and the menu is vast. My absolute favorite is their Fresca beverages. They have cucumber, cantaloupe, and watermelon. The watermelon is the best thing I’ve ever had! The staff is always so kind and attentive, and the restaurant is clean and comfortable. It’s always a lovely experience. I would recommend that you visit as soon as you can. I typically order the 3 taco plate.

What a pleasant and quality experience. In from out of town and looking for a place to eat between my son’s basketball tournament games across the street. The people here are polite and helpful. The food seems very authentic. Recommended.

driven by a few times, thought i would try. saturday visit, a little busy in the lot (almost run over by someone in a hurry), couple of tables empty in the restaurant. ordered a three taco plate. took 35 minutes. not sure what they had going on, but speedy they were not. tacos (pastor) were okay; pretty dry, but okay flavor. black beans as a side; pretty small – the spoon to eat them was as big as the dish. staff was friendly enough, maybe just not enough of them. there are so many quicker and better taco shops around, probably won’t go back.

I came here before work and ordered a breakfast burrito with chorizo and bacon. There was no chorizo. The burrito was a little bland and I’m not a fan of the green sauce.
Customer service was excellent though

Seen this place for years and it’s next to Starbucks so it’s always busy in the morning and today left Costco and gave it a shot. Great decision!!!! They are super nice and accommodating. Food was amazing. I will say the best in the area. Been here for over 23 years in the area and they do a great job. Only done side are the chairs. Not very comfortable but it’s my opinion. Flautas (mixed, chicken and beef) were amazing and the Gordita I got was perfect. For chairs and egg with cheese. It was $20 for both items and had water. We don’t eat a whole lot and we still had leftovers to take home. Overall great place to get great food.

Tacos Cantu – Duncanville Review (Visited 04.07.2025)
I stopped by Tacos Cantu in Duncanville yesterday and wanted to leave a quick review based on the food, the menu, and the service. I ordered the Five Cheese Enchiladas, and I have to be honest—it should not be called that by any stretch of the imagination.
The enchiladas came out as four to five small tortillas with a light sprinkle of crumbled cheese that resembled mozzarella—but certainly not five different cheeses. If you’re expecting a bold, layered cheese experience, this isn’t it. So, for the menu accuracy, I’d have to rate it a 0 out of 10.
As for the food itself, I wouldn’t say it was bad—but I can’t say it was great either. If you’re hungry and looking for a decent portion, you’ll get that here. The plate came with your choice of black or refried beans, a side salad, and rice, which is a nice, typical Latin combo. I’ll give portion size a thumbs-up, but the taste and quality I’d rate a 4 out of 10.
Where Tacos Cantu really shines is in service and customer experience. The staff was friendly, welcoming, and genuinely wanted to make sure I was satisfied. When I asked about the missing “five cheeses,” they kindly explained and even offered me extra shredded mozzarella—no charge. Small gesture, but it made a difference.
When I decided to eat in instead of taking my food to go, I noticed there were no visible trash bins. A friendly staff member motioned for me to just leave it on the table. I thanked her, and she smiled warmly—it’s those little moments that make a place feel inviting.
So here’s the breakdown:
Menu Accuracy: 0/10
Food Taste & Quality: 4/10
Portion Size: Solid
Customer Service & Environment: 10/10
If you enjoy Mexican cuisine, I’d still suggest stopping by—everyone has off days, and your experience may be different. But one thing I do recommend: change the name of that entrée—because there are definitely not five cheeses anywhere on that plate.
And if you love food, vibes, and great music—check me out for more honest reviews, and don’t forget to listen to my husband, ALBOOBY, the hottest new Afrobeats artist in the metroplex! He’s awesome… and yes, he’s mine. (Smile)

Best street tacos in DFW. After being disappointed with Tex-Mex in Texas, I was pleasantly surprised to find Cantu tacos. Excellent flavor, very fresh ingredients, served nice and hot, with a cold beer.
Highly recommended.

The food was good! I would recommend the flour tortilla and the steak or pastor. I loved how the tortilla was fried a little and they put cheese in the tacos. The food came out fast but the only thing that is lacking was that there could have been a little more rice and beans but other than that the green salsa was soooo good!!! And the drink was good! Cucumber lime. The ambiance was cozy and the service was good polite at the counter and easy to talk to since it was my first time there

I have been here several times and absolutely love the atmosphere. It is calm and quite and always the perfect amount of people there and the times it’s packaged… I order for today.. see pics for the different items I have tried… the service is always spectacular no matter who takes the order. I go so much… I am going to be on first name bases with everyone soon. Lol I think they are priced reasonably for the portion size and quality of service and food. Love the decor and they have paper straws. I have never been in when they are using their tortillas machine but they taste house-made…
