Came in on a Sunday night it was clean well kept, staff was extremely pleasant. We were sat and we saw our waitress very quickly so was well informed and conversational which we loved. My husband and I ordered double bacon cheese burgers and fries and our friend orders a grilled ham and cheese with potato soup sodas were refilled so fast. Everything is ala carte but affordable, the fry portion was massive and the burgers almost as big as my unborn child. If you plan to come here come hungry and bring your Thanksgiving pants.

We’ve eaten here several times. The club sandwich is fantastic, it’s out favorite. The service and atmosphere is spot on. A great place to grab a bite and a drink. See you again soon.

Came to town to help with storm damage. Wanted to partake in local business and economy and settled on The Axe House. I split the fried cheese curds with my associate and had a double bacon cheese burger with fries. The decor was a nice split between rustic and modern and overall it has a cozy pleasant vibe. Staff was friendly and efficient and I rather enjoyed the food. Should I find my way back to McCook for any reason I will be stopping in again.

We ate here on Father’s Day for the first time. The service was a bit slow but as we all know help is hard to find. And my husband ordered an appetizer that ended up coming in place of his fries but we were so full we wouldn’t have had room for them anyway! The food was excellent! I had the club sandwich and it was delicious. We didn’t throw axes this time but we will be back. Plus when the bill came it had a nice size discount on it for Father’s Day. Great place for our community!

My husband and I ate supper on July 26th. I ordered the Grilled Chicken Salad. It was by far the best salad that I have ever ate at a restaurant. The appearance of the salad was awesome, beautiful made. I will order one again the next time we eat there. Sorry I didn’t mean to give it a one star rating. I did go back in and change it.

I went to The Axe House in McCook Nebraska on May 1 2025. The service was horrible and my double cheeseburger was black. It tasted like charcoal. The buns were burned so bad on top and the sides they were black. We were seated 10 minutes and already knew what we wanted to eat, drink, and for appetizers before the wait staff ever came to ask us what we wanted. Then she only came one time to ask us if we needed refills. We told her yes and finally after a 5 minute wait she finally brought our refills. Over all, the food was bad and tasted like charcoal. The wait to be waited on was long. I almost considered going somewhere else. I would not recommend this place to anyone.
