We were bored with all other restaurants in town and wanted to try something different. I am so glad we did!! The flavors were so enjoyable! It’s a very clean restaurant! Keep in mind this is not Mexican food. It is Hondurian. Such a great change from typical Mexican. They serve the freshest chicken I’ve had in a long time. As noted in other reviews they do use their children to take your order, etc. But why would anyone ever say something negative about teaching kids a work ethic!?! This place is worth trying!!! We will definitely return.

Horray for Honduran food in Hot Springs! This is definitely a new gem in town. The food was delicious, hot and fresh. The flavors all complemented each other and it was quite the umami experience with the Pollo con Tajadas (chicken with plantains) and honestly, I don’t like plantains!! But I decided to try this place and the dishes how they come bc tastes change and either mine have or they know how to cook delicious plantains. They reminded me of dehydrated banana chips, but soft and hot with perfect crispy bits. I will say the atmosphere isn’t the best but they just opened and that can change- it just has a cold vibe, but you can tell with the art on the wall they are trying. The server was awesome and printed a menu of the Honduran dishes in English, but he also explained the menu and after talking he offered to pick for us and we let him pick two authentic dishes to surprise us and both were AWESOME. The Baleada which is like a quesadilla was better than any quesadilla I’ve ever had and my only complaint is there wasn’t a second one with it bc it was hard to share! Now as far as the Pollo con Tajadas, I really can’t say enough great things. The chicken was bone in and it was seasoned sooooo good! The sauces and the salad mix with the beets- mmmm! I recommend trying it as it comes, trust me, even I was brave to try it with the plantains and I’m so glad I did. Culinary combinations really can surprise you if you give them the chance and I definitely would give these guys a chance. Seating tip: if you are cold natured sit farther away from the door- it doesn’t close well and there’s a little chill and the booth against the window moves so be warned all in all, great food and great folks. I even met Rosita herself and she was just cooking away which I loved. I can’t wait to return to try the other authentic dishes. So excited for some new tasty treats!

Food was good, not a lot of vegetables in the dishes, but they do have one plain vegetable dish. Service was friendly even if they took awhile and even forgot my plate. We were a big group, to be fair. Atmosphere was comfortable and simple, not a fancy place but clean

This is real Honduran food. Not Mexican or TexMex. Just putting that out there for people who don’t understand there is a difference.
We popped in for a quick lunch. We ended up splitting the Pastelitos de Pollo (empanadas). It came with cabbage, pickled beets and carrots (sauerkraut), Pico and cheese. So good. The dough had so much flavor. The chicken was finely shredded and not overseasoned. Also got a glass of Tamarindo juice. Fresh made! Finished off with a carlota de limón, a delightful lime custard and wafer dessert. Not too sweet, just right
We can’t wait to go back again. We peeped at the plates coming out of the kitchen and everything looked so good.

Yall I pull into the parking lot to turn around but saw this place and decided to go in and try it!! We kept it simple and he got a pork burrito and I got a chicken burrito. They were HUGE!! The avacados inside tasted so fresh I would’ve believed them if they told me that had an avacado tree in the back. It was a super great burrito.
The place itself is a family restaurant so no corporate feel and has more of a local friendly vibe that I like in a place.
Our server was very polite, I just wish he had refilled our sweet teas which were also amazing btw.
Super glad we stopped. We will be back next time we’re in town to try something else.

I have been to Hot Springs a few times and tried a few different restaurants. This is some of the most authentic ethnic food I have had. The tortillas are so hot and fresh and taste like the corn was ground 30 minutes ago. The flavors in the dishes are wonderful. I highly recommend the pupusas and the chicken empanadas. The staff was friendly and hospitable. They were celebrating a birthday when we walked in and they even brought us some cake. I highly recommend this for foodies who love authentic ethnic food.
