My wife and I stopped in for lunch today after walking a good portion of the Freedom Trail. We were pleasantly surprised at the numerous gluten free option and even more impressed with the quality of the food. The portions were generous as well, and neither one of us was able to finish our meal.

This is a tiny spot in downtown Boston, on Milk and Broad, just a couple blocks from the freedom Trail.

It is a great spot to get away from the heat and humidity and have an incredibly delicious meal that tastes home made.

Stop in and grab some really delicious comfort food, especially if you need gluten free options.

My best friend introduced me to Flavor Boom, and I’m so glad they did! I visited their downtown Boston location and was really impressed. The food was hot, fresh, and absolutely delicious — full of flavor just like the name promises. The prices were also very reasonable, especially for the quality and portion sizes. It’s definitely a new favorite spot for tasty Asian comfort food. I’ll be coming back for sure. Thanks, Flavor Boom!

Good spot for a quick bite. Simple menu, good portions, and the rendang is really good. Friendly staff and a nice, quiet vibe. Would definitely come back.

I always like to look for healthy options when finding “fast food” and this place meets that criteria. I was torn between the many options they had but ended up with the shrimp. It was flavorful! I got a size “regular” and the portion was generous with rice and vegetables. It felt like I was eating a home cooked meal which is great when you’re dining out and wanting something fast and also yummy.

The food was nice, and in the huge volume! I will definitely try again for the next time.

This was my first going to Flavor Boom… I was expecting a “Flavor Boom” and after one spoonful it was more like a “Bland Boom”. It was soggy and my order was incorrect…If the customer service was better I would’ve given 2 stars. When you walk into the restaurant be mindful of a couple of tables up front that don’t have proper signage directing you to them to place your order.

I honestly wish I could take back the calories and just have eaten somewhere else. Maybe I went on a bad day? There was NO FLAVOR. I got the Boomin’ Beef…. Which was supposed to have coconut milk flavor and a “plethora of aromatics and spices”. This thing was so flavorless. First couple bites I thought maybe the flavorful juice had really just run to the bottom of the bowl. But once you got to the bottom all you saw was a little bit of braising liquid / rendered fat. I went up to the counter and asked if I could get a little bit more juice and when they poured it on top it was practically clear. I’m very uncertain how something braised in coconut milk and supposed to have a ton of spices came out this way. Especially when I do a side-by-side comparison between the colors my food came out looking like, and the menu. Everything was super quick because all the food is premade they just need to scoop it into a bowl. I’m not going to split hairs over the economy or how people get paid, but it’s a little aggravating that you order yourself at the counter on a tablet and then they call your name for you to come pick up your food – but then they still request that you tip when you pay.

I was looking for a highly rated food place in the area, and I found this place. The bowl sizes are on the front counter to help you decide on a size, and you order quickly at one of the kiosks at the counter. We ordered the tamarind chicken and the chicken adobo. Our first reaction was that the chicken was cooked to perfection, not an ounce of dryness. Both were good, but the chicken adobo was my favorite. It came with potatoes, green beans, and rice, which were also cooked perfectly. Two kid’s portions plus a tirimisu cup, also delicious, came out to $20. We ordered kid’s portions because the regular size was way too big for us. I’d go back just for the rice crackers that came with the kid’s portion, but I recommend the chicken adobo for sure.

I have to say, when I saw the overall rating I was a little skeptical, but this restaurant really lives up to its name. I got the spicy chicken and the eggplant side and both were absolutely delicious and the flavor in particular packed a huge whallop. Considering where the restaurant is located, the prices were extremely reasonable too. So super delicious, quick, and cheap(ish)? Color me super impressed. I would not be surprised if this place spreads out. I was really impressed with the curry.

The atmosphere is clean and spare. Service is perfunctory. It actually took them quite some time to complete my order because I’m guessing the eggplant hadn’t been ready, but I’d rather wait for something cooked to order. All in all this is a high recommendation. Great lunch option.

I generally have lower expectations for chains, but I am actually happy that this is a chain because that means more of this delicious food will be spread around the city!

This location has plenty of seating. There is a kiosk for ordering as soon as you enter. You can see the servers prepare the bowls as you wait. The menu is so diverse, and the price is cheap for the portion size.

I got the red-glaze pork, which was extremely tender and flavorful but a tad too salty. My friend got the garlic paprika pulpo, which was also cooked well. Both came with rice and string beans.

This is a great spot for a quick, filling bite, especially if you work in the area.
