Karmen and all of the Halwa staff are wonderful to work with! We hosted our baby shower at the shop and not only had delicious coffee, but also homemade pastries and desserts. I would highly recommend Halwa for all of your events!

I stumbled upon this gem after a hike by nearby Huckleberry Trail while visiting from North Carolina, needing a place to rest and refuel. I ordered the Halal Latte and a Halal pastry, which were both tasty and something new to enjoy. The interior design is exquisite, from every part of the establishment, with the right balance off creative inspiration but nothing distracting. I would certainly return here the next time I’m in town.

I had a wonderful experience at Halwa Bakery and Coffee! The staff was incredibly kind and welcoming. One of the team members kindly walked me through the dessert options and explained the unique flavors such a thoughtful touch. The lemon cheesecake was fresh and absolutely delicious, the red velvet cake was soft and creamy, and the chocolate cake was phenomenal. They also offer a great selection of halal options and really good coffee. The cozy atmosphere made it even better. Highly recommended and can’t wait to come back!

I am in absolute love with this place!
Beautiful and aesthetic decor. Had many cozy cute places to sit, read and sip on your coffee while chitchatting with friends & family. Many bakery options and pastries to choose from. Everything is so good but my favorites are extreme chocolate cake and Habibi Latte with Pastachio & Honey. The place have an extra seating outside which is also prettier.

Great place to drink coffee and study!!! The atmosphere is very cozy and calm. I ordered a tomato soup, it was delicious and very filling for just one bowl of soup. I also ordered a Arabic Date Latte (Hot), which is one of my favorite drinks from here, is super flavorful and not too sweet, they also offer dairy free options for the milk. I’ve also ordered the Biscoff Latte which is a little sweeter but really good. Overall really good place to relax or work on homework!!

This place has so much to offer. I have never been in a Coffee shop that reminded of back home! This one did at every level.

Super delish. A highlight for coffee and pastries in Blacksburg, VA

We shared a large breakfast sandwich and some baklava. I bought a Lebanese pastry with spinach and feta. Everything was so good!

We didn’t have time for a beverage but the selection was quite good (Bourbon CaramelChai, Red Velvet Latte etc.). I’d return. Highly, highly recommend.

I’ve been to Halwa a few different times since it’s opened and I always enjoy my time there.

I’ve had their regular coffee and cappuccino, both of which are pretty good.

The atmosphere, I think is the best out of all the coffee shops in Blacksburg. It has nice comfortable seating and just a good aesthetic overall.

Always recommend!!

Update: they serve Counter Culture coffee which is tremendous coffee. 10 stars!

One recommendation too: I would add a standing desk portion to dining area along the window portion.

The lattes are good, I really liked it.
The breakfast croissant sandwich they have different types, but the one I had wasn’t good.
Nice area to do work.
Also last time I went there, I was just waiting at the cashier register, while two young ladies chatted in front of me, one was making a drink and the other was just standing there, ignoring my presence. Until 5 minutes later, I asked her if the cash register was working or if the cashier was working today then she took my order.
Not good customer service, to be ignored when wanting to order and approach the counter waiting patiently.

Came back a second time, but this time was less satisfying. Apparently there’s a consistency issue. Nice inviting-looking space, with plenty of seating at 10am. Today however, music way too loud, making hard to concentrate on conversation or read. Also, quite cold, almost like the heat isn’t even on (it was 51° outside).
Got a Lebanese frittata this time, got it warmed, and it was delicious. Perfectly flakey and savory. Just wish it wasn’t almost $14 for that an a cup of hot water with a 15¢ bag thrown in (tea). Thankfully they do do refills on tea at least. Seriously, and I hate to say it, but SB is a better value, and they’ve got real cream for my tea.
Overall, not bad, but I think I’ll keep looking in town for a better value, and more comfortable place to connect with people.
(PS. I don’t normally comment on, or take photos of, the bathroom, but there’s are quite nice!)
