Had the kabob platter, I enjoyed the chicken very much, with lots of flavor. The rice was okay, I even bought more rice because I love rice but it did lack of flavor. The rice tasted just basmati with food coloring, no taste. I like the hummus, I liked the bread he gave with it. Over all it was a good meal. I paid $28 for everything. I opted for no salad but more rice. Another small plate with rice for $5. I do recommend it.

I don’t believe the overall experience warrants more than two stars.
I kept seeing these amazing photos posted by Shawarmatee on social media, so we decided to drive out to their food truck on Friday evening.
The truck is parked in the Shell gas station on the corner of Babcock and Wurzbach. There’s space for about 5 or 6 cars on the side of the food truck. The menu is prominently displayed, and the area around looks as clean as one would expect a gas station parking lot to be.
The gentleman taking orders and packaging the food was polite enough. I’m not one for overly effusive or disingenuous customer service. As long as you’re not a jerk and the food and price are right, I can tolerate a bland interaction. We asked for details about a couple of menu items, but he kind of nodded while never answering the questions.
We ordered the mix shawarma plate, two Arabi wraps, and an order of falafel, as well as a can of Coke, bottles of water, and a mango drink.
It took about 15 minutes for our order to be ready, and everything was hot and well-packaged. He even threw in some extra tahini and garlic sauces (or what he said was garlic and tahini sauce).
My kids said the Arabi wraps were fine. They didn’t think the sauce had any garlic flavor whatsoever, and the tahini tasted more of oil than anything else. My husband and I both agreed that the beef included on our mixed shawarma plates tasted off. There’s a sweetness that develops as red meat begins to turn, and that’s the unpleasant flavor we detected when we ate our plates. The chicken, as many other Yelpers have pointed out, was beyond dry. It lacked seasoning and was throat-scratchingly dry. The salad was uninspired and lazy, and the rice was adequate. The falafel was broken and burned in areas, but had an overall good flavor and almost fluffy texture. I had to agree with the kids that the garlic sauce tasted more like mayo.
We didn’t finish our food and ended up going to an Indian food truck down the street to fill our stomachs. I feel bad writing this because this is an elderly gentleman, but I also don’t think the feedback on the chicken and the quality of food is being addressed.
We want to go out and feel we’re getting our money, gas, and time’s worth, and Shawarmatee failed to deliver on that. Instead, it feels like a cash grab from unsuspecting diners.

I came hungry but it was a bit of a disappointment.

– lamb gyro sandwich $10 no side meat was cold and dry like it was sitting in the fridge and only veggies were lettuce and 1 small slice of tomato
– beef burger $11 with fries was a pretty good deal. Patty had good flavor with seasoning but it seemed cold.

The lamb kabobs were to die for. The chef and owner a delightful man who not only gave me a discount but made the portions huge. The lamb tender and Juicy the rice eldente and the Arabic humis had that anticipated tangy zip to it(made me crave some real dolma). Falafel was great and sauces unique and reasturant made and the bread fresh chewy and delectably warm to perfection. I give this diamond in the rough an 11 cuz this chef goes out of his way to be the welcomeing smile through that little sliding service window. Thanks for a wonderful meal and a new friend. I know I’ll return

I was going to church at first but then it was closed and I was promised to get a shawarma for the first time and I had other plans to go to the mall but when I went by it was closed. It was like I was meant to try this shawarma. When I went over there the guy was extremely kind and I just asked for the chicken shawarma wrap and he kindly said it’d take about 4 minutes. I had a big smile on my face the shawarma was around 11 dollars though but I can gladly say it was worth the price since it was pretty big and long and the flavor was very unique because of the garlic sauce but I got used to it and the chicken has a nice seasoning on it and the shawarma was very good overall it’s something I’ve never tried before it was as if I was meant to try this shawarma. 10/10 the best blind buy ever.

Heard from a friend about this place and decided to try it out. The shawarma tasted very good! It’s a food truck located in a gas station, making it easy to spot. Definitely worth a visit!
You can choose your shawarma with either rice or roti.
