I like going here when I’m in the area for lunch. They have great plate lunches, burgers, and pizza. Today we were working out in Grant, LA and on our way back to the office we stopped. It was a little after 12 pm. They had already sold out of plate lunches. I ordered the steak fingers(4) with white gravy, fries, toast, and a drink. My total came out to 12.35. I will say, 11% Tax seems very high. But that could be for the town of Oberlin. There was also a card fee charge, which is normal these days. I find annoying in general, yes I understand that the entity receives a charge and then the company puts it on the customer.
The food came out quickly. The French fries were fried perfectly. The steak fingers were good, the gravy needed more pepper and salt but it was great. The bread was buttered and toasted and was good. Will definitely be back and will try something different.
I hear they have amazing crawfish.

I chickened out on getting actual crawfish because I don’t know how to eat them, but I enjoyed my crawfish poboy. You can tell that it was prime season for crawfish. This place was super busy on a Tuesday night, with folks plowing through giant trays of the stuff. I was definitely jealous that I was here on my own. I came back for a giant pancake for breakfast the next day. Prices for dinner and breakfast seem really reasonable, and food was all fresh. Staff were really busy at dinner, but always friendly.

I can’t rate the food because they have their doors locked during business hours. It says they’re open from 6:30 AM to 9 PM yet here it is 3:00 PM and the doors are locked. I called to see what’s going on and they say they don’t open the lobby till five and they don’t start serving crawfish till five yet their name is Crawfish Shack. How does that make sense? Maybe let the world know before you have pissed off customers that drive two hours to come eat at your establishment

Worst experience ever. If you’re not a local they know then you are ignored. Finally took my order and 45 minutes later still no food. Someone one Finally come to check on me. Asked where my food was. They didn’t even know I had ordered. Then cone told me it would be 10 minutes more. It was breakfast and hardly anyone was in there. Doesn’t take long to cook eggs. Total waste of time. I love supporting small local businesses when I am traveling but this one was a total waste of time.

$25 for crawfish poboy, onion rings and coke. Very few crawfish mixed in a glop of leftover corn, potatoes, and bad remoulade sauce. Told to order and pay at the bar then saw the same waitress taking orders at other tables. I won’t be back.

We ate here last night (02/08/25). The crawfish were small though it is early in the season. The taste was amazingly good. We also had boiled shrimp. They were large shrimp. The taste and seasoning were good. I can’t wait to go back.

Cloggigated milk I bought milk which they should sell individual bottles instead of selling milk from the gallon in a cup not satisfied then they want to offer another cup of spoiled milk

I’m thinking that the lunch menu is different from the dinner menu. The service was awful. Had to ask for menus. After taking our order, the waiter went in the back/ drive-thru and only returned to bring our plates, but gave us no utensils. We waited and waited. My friend went to the door to the back and knocked. No one came. Food is getting cold and no one responds. The only other party that was there said just go on in the back. After going into the back she came back with 2 forks.
The waitier never really checked on us again. I had to catch his eye through the window and signal that we were ready. We’d already told him we needed a to go box for the excess food. Also, there was a poboy under the warmer that we ordered to go. After he took our money we had to remind him about the Togo boxes we needed. We left and realized that the waiter had not brought out the other poboy that was waiting for us. Had to go back in.
I used to live in Oberlin and bragged on former students that had a restaurant. Service was awful. Food was salty and meh. I know this can’t be the norm. I’d heard so many good reviews.

Great spot. We had burgers on the sourdough buns. A+ as where the onion rings and boiled mushrooms!
