We had a reservation for New Year’s Eve dinner… or so we thought. When we arrived, the reservation had vanished somewhere between the old year and the new one. After a few moments of confusion, we were seated at a shared table—an interesting concept if you’re attending a spiritual retreat, a sociological experiment, or volunteering for an NGO, but hardly ideal for ringing in the New Year.
From that point on, the culinary obstacle course began: we had to ask for cutlery, then drinks, then bread… The only thing missing was an invitation to step into the kitchen and help out.
The salad, a simple dish with no culinary ambitions whatsoever, took 40 minutes to arrive. We assume the lettuce was still making its way across the Sahel on foot.
After more than an hour of waiting for the second course—which never materialized—we decided to leave angry, hungry, and already in the new year, which was not exactly part of the plan.
It’s a shame, because African cuisine deserves respect, care, and professionalism. Here, however, the only thing that felt truly African was the “human warmth”… in the sense that we were forced to share a table, because when it came to service, there was nothing but absence.

Great experience, amazing service, incredible starter (tomates crevettes), but the mains have room for improvement.
We felt both mains (boeuf and sole) would have been much better with some nice vegetables on the side – especially the sole, which had little to no potato purée (see the photo).
Overall, a really good experience, which we would recommend… but one that can be even better if the feedback is well received and implemented!

I have no clue why this place is rated #46/2328 on trip adviser. It is definitely underrated. The place is really nice and with really good quality food. The price for food and wine is also very decent. Service is also awesome. Everyone travelling to Brussel should give it a go

So comfy and homely atmosphere, made our evening. Great feeling! The food is all very classical and local, but with a bit of surprise and twist. Not too much like a gimmick, but like a little extra layer. And yet it stays homely. The taste just fits. Thank you so much!!

I went to this restaurant with 2 other friends driven by the good reviews and got truly disappointed. The service was exceptionally bad. We ordered the menu (which is basically the only choice for dinner) and the starter arrived only after ONE hour. I don’t understand how it would take so long to prepare the only dishes that you offer. Also the food was not tasty and the portions were insignificant. Although the menu is not expensive, the price vs quality is completely out of proportions. And yes, there is only one poor waitress taking care of the entire place. As a local, my only recommendation is to avoid this place.

The menu is small but there is enough choice for everyone to find something to his liking. I went for the 36 Euro three course menu which basically means you choose a starter, mains and dessert or cheese. I liked quality and quantity of the food. The place has a very comfortable feeling. It is not large and was completely full on Saturday evening. So better to book ahead if you want to be sure to get a table. The service was friendly but think the kitchen was a bit overwhelmed as my meal took over two hours.
